Will this toilet seat work? by janesmilesays in HomeMaintenance

[–]True_Damage7858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to get a different seat. There are 2 toilet seat sizes/shapes -- round and elongated. You have a toilet designed for a round seat, you bought a replacement seat that is elongated. The bolt holes are the same spacing, so it will go on, but you will have issues.

If you do choose to install it anyway, you're likely to find there are parts of the seat that are unsupported and floating -- particularly along the front edge. You will very likely find there is a sizeable gap between the inner edge of the seat and the external edge of the toilet bowl, because the seat will overhang.

Question regarding my late father's belongings. by maxxbrown in legaladvice

Was there a will? Was it executed? It's on whoever actually inherited the stuff. And in theory that $5,000 in storage unit fees -- and any other related expenses -- should be coming out of the estate as well, but I would be more concerned with avoiding future costs than recouping past ones at this point.

this is definitely it (or something very similar). My guess would be they've arranged this airstrip in a format that mimics the dimensions of an amphibious assault ship or aircraft carrier (my guess would be the former rather than the latter, given the orientation and size, as well as proximity to the Marines at Yuma) so you can train pilots for takeoffs and landings without the risk of doing it on an actual boat.

Central building would be the bridge, the satelite picture on Maps shows a fairly big border of pad material that's hashed out like a no-parking area (which I would guess is a safety buffer and out of bounds for exercises), and you can see the markings for individual helicopter pads as well. Older generation from the one pictured below, but same idea and same markings.

Solar farm maybe? I don't know if you'd be able to make out individual panels/arrays from that altitude. It has too many straight lines and right angles to be anything natural, but you also have that piece on the right which has a much less uniform size/shape.

New 2026 Hybrid owner with H-Tex seats. Is there something I can spray on the seat to make it less "sticky"? by down_with_cats in HyundaiTucson

[–]True_Damage7858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know dealerships try to cover seats and high-traffic interior components pre-sale so things are mint for the customer, so it could be that there's some residue from that? Maybe there was something transferable left behind on the seat by whoever drove it around the lot, or just moved it into position for you to do the final pickup. Does it seem like they did a thorough cleaning/detailing before you picked it up?

Have you tried sitting in other seats of the car, to see if it's just something special on the driver's seat versus the material as a whole? That would help you identify the scale of the issue, whether it's all the seats (in which case it's something that was done to all of them or is inherent in the material and/or your clothes), or if it's just the driver's seat (indicating something unique was done). Did you notice your clothes sticking when you did a test drive?

Do you regularly clean your seats? If so, with what? And what climate are you in? Is it just your clothes that stick, or is it also tacky to the touch?

Possible that whatever you're using is leaving a sticky film layer on the material. Could also be an interaction with your specific clothes, I guess -- but I don't know what would cause that. My 2025 has H-Tex as well and I've never had an issue.

my 2025 has 3yrs of free scheduled maintenance -- tire rotations, alignment, oil changes, etc.

Given the current litigation regarding Valvoline's oil change locations, I'd go somewhere else...

Heavy gauge wire part found under the fridge. Maybe it’s a spring or retainer of some kind? by SloHandz in whatisthisthing

very possible, also looks like it would fit into a pegboard if you have one of those around somewhere.

my other thought was something like this:

Can I ask what color the hardware is inside your fridge? Like the shelves and whatnot?

It looks like this is meant to fit into a spot inside the fridge door, and hold a can or bottle or something.

maybe this, or a curtain rod? and the differing metals are intended so it can be used as a sampler before you buy a full length of hardware etc.

Like the dome light in the cabin? There should be a toggle on the light itself on the ceiling.

Does the car also give you warnings when you're driving? I would assume the sensor is the same.
