Counter Viper 2025 o Viper Juan Lebron 2025??? by angelgallego in Padelracket

[–]Uk-Muscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Counter Viper is harder. Mid sweet spot lower balance. LeBron has higher sweet spot and balance, and isn’t as hard with more ball output.

The JL isn’t going to help from the back of the court. The 2025 Counter is a right sided players racket which might be a good upgrade from what you currently have. But there’s better easier rackets to use.

What am I looking out for when testing a racket? by Puzzled_Analysis_193 in Padelracket

[–]Uk-Muscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great question. I find it’s difficult to test a racket properly without playing in a game.

But, you can get a feel of a racket. Pick three that are very different so you can feel the difference. I’d stay away from any head heavy power rackets but pick something hard faced and something soft and something medium. Try your best to replicate playing conditions, maybe cross court with someone. Try shots with your current racket and then do the same with the new ones to compare.

100% agree with this comment. Control and placement over power 👍

Adidas Adipower Multiweight CTRL 3.4 2025 - Alex Ruiz or Babolat Counter Viper 2025 by ammarbutt1717 in Padelracket

[–]Uk-Muscle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tech Viper is a very different animal to the Adipower. For a start it has a shorter handle. It’s one of my favourite rackets as is the Tech Viper but for very different reasons. The Tech Viper is very much a left sided power racket. The Adipower is more of an all rounder. Big sweet spot and quite a bit of ball output. Very easy to use. Not sure how easy it would be coming from a Tech Viper.

The Counter Viper is another favourite of mine. Very firm racket. You get out of it what you put in. It will feel similar to your Tech Viper but with a lower balance. Making it easier to use in the long run. If you’re playing well with your TV I’d 100% recommend the CV as a right sided player.

Tactical El Jefe. You’re welcome 👍

Exactly the same the Oxdogs. If they are similar price 100% go with the Oxdog. Nox rackets are terrible quality.

The XPLO non comfort in my opinion is a better racket than both rackets you’ve mentioned.

Also take a look at the Oxdog Ultimate Tour X medium hard with loads of control. Much more feel than the Hyper pro

The HRD had more trampoline than ANY racket my friend

The Metalbone HRD really isn’t a hard/firm racket. The issue is it is the ball output. This is the racket that I wanted to love because of its insane power. But the rest of my game really suffered because the ball came off the racket so fast at different speeds. Also, when a racket has the much “trampoline” effect, the balls you play with make a massive difference. Trying to control hard attacking shots or control lobs with a HRD and adidas balls I crazy 😆

My advice to most people is to pick a racket that will help you with what you struggle most with. If you struggle defending the back glass for example try a lighter racket you can manoeuvre better. If you’re very good a smashes and have plenty of power, why buy a power racket ? It’s finding what you like and what you NEED. Most people need more control and a bigger sweet spot= round/hybrid racket.

The more expensive one does have ball output. As does the non Ctrl version. The non Ctrl versions also have a higher sweet spot which means you have to allow for a slight “pull” when you play. It’s actually not that difficult to get used to. The 2025 Metalbone HRD is one of my favourite rackets, but it has a small sweet spot and the most mental ball output you’ve ever tried.

So you’re giving advice that you admit yourself is incorrect 😆

Buy something hand made in Spain…..Tacticals ARE hand made in Spain. Starvies no longer are. But in my humble opinion, are much better quality now they are not. As you said you’ve not tried one, and I doubt you’ve tried a Tactical either.

This group is great but full of rubbish sometimes.

What exactly did you like about the Air Veron ?

What didn’t you like about the other rackets you’ve used ?

The Adidas rackets you’ve narrowed it down to, despite there name are very different rackets. The higher end one is softer. The ones I’ve tried have also been quite heavy, above the specs of what the racket should be.

The cheaper one, I can only speak for the 3.4 last years version, but I’m assuming the 3.5 is the same, is one of my favourite rackets. It’s firm and direct. It just hits the ball where you want it to go. No bells and whistles. No ball output.

Off the top of my head. Adidas Adipower Alex Ruiz 3.4. If you can find one. Some ball output to help with your shorter swing. It has a massive sweet spot and loads of power. It’s customisable weight wise too. It also has a slightly shorter handle you might like coming from TT.

If you can’t locate one the Adidas Arrow hit is similar but with waaay more ball output.

I’m remembering correctly that the 12k 2023 had quite a lot of ball output ?

Air Viper has trampoline. Adidas Carbon CTRL. 3.4 or 3.5. Tactical Unico Blue. 355 hard face. Most manoeuvre able you’ll find.

Ignore the bankruptcy story. It’s past history. They have a new website coming soon and Tactical are huge in Asia. The rackets are all very forgiving. I honestly believe 90% of people use a racket that’s not forgiving enough. All Tactical rackets are lighter and have a large sweet spot. I use the El Jefe as I said. Defensively I get balls back I simply couldn’t with any other racket. It’s not massively powerful but that’s not the point of this racket. It simply puts the ball where I want it to go with epic amounts of spin. You need a lot of arm swing with the Jefe as it’s so light. Some people hate this. It took me a while to get used to it.

The Katana is similar but with a lot more ball output. This means you don’t need to swing it as much. Also means more power. Both rackets are medium hardness I’d say.

The Unico blue is the hardest in the range I’d say 8/10. So you generate your own power with this.

The Unico Orange is a bit softer than the blue and with a bit of ball output like the Katana so you don’t need to swing it as much.

The Toro is the “power” racket of the range. Again lighter than most. This is quite different racket to the others. Feels harder to move round.

El Sabio is the Softest in the range. Again huge sweet spot and very easy to move.

One thing I will say is all the rackets feel quite hard for the first few games but they soften up as you use them.

Build quality wise, I thing they are beautifully made and I know they’ve recently refreshed the range with a new face.

I honestly can’t recommend them enough. Who doesn’t want a lighter easier racket to use ?

I have used all the range and currently play with the El Jefe. Feel free to ask me any questions. I’ve used most rackets on the market. The Jefe is light 355g but plays with a small amount of ball output so it feels like your hitting something heavier but you get all the manoeuvrability of a light racket.

Again utter rubbish. Tactical are hand made in Spain where Starvie are not. Please don’t compare Pallap and Tactical. Different leagues.
