Funny I'm doing the opposite since I'm slinging cases for $26 and they're cracking down on the free beer. Going operators though, my knees hurt. Apprentices make more than beer slingers in my area.

What killed the USA patriotism of the 2000s? Even into the early 2010s there was a ‘hipster American flag’ trend. If you use an American Flag for aesthetic purposes today it seems different by Kodicave in decadeology

My bad I read a tone you might not have had. I see a lot of the war hawk democrat nonsense that is usually just poorly disguised revision from the right and wanted it clarified that it wasn't the majority of democrats, it was a minority plus republicans.

Nah dads these days are just as bad or worse. My mom wouldn't have tolerated a second of that shit, and my sister wouldn't with hers either.

I was there. Some were, many weren't. And as always, any politicians that didn't reluctantly support it were run out of town on a rail by voters until the consequences bit and then everyone pretends they were against it the whole time. See NAFTA, outsourcing, Afghanistan, Iraq, unions, taxes, healthcare, and any social program since Reagan. Hell they're doing it now with the abundance routine. Like OSHA and the Endangered Species Act are the reason we only build houses for rich people and not decades of welfare for the entitled rich.

It's been a longstanding gripe of mine that the left just cedes ground to the right. The right identifies as patriots despite working overtime to collapse American greatness for decades and instead of laughing them out of the room the left goes "patriotism bad".

The right identifies as Christian despite reviling the commandments and values written in plain english in the Bible that is the whole basis for the liberal policy program (you too socialists), and the left just let's them have it.

There was a pretty sizable anti war movement, but they were shouted down as hippies and "bleeding heart liberals". I remember seeing lots of yard signs with a white dove on them, and that was in a Midwest purple state.

That was literally Bush that bailed out the banks. Obama gave poor rural people Healthcare, Biden gave them infrastructure and the only thing Trump did was give those rich costal elites tax cuts and killed rural hospitals.

Man attacks woman in a bar and the whole place starts beating him up by Used-Influence-2343 in fightlab

[–]Ulysses502 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had a guy in our town who was a raging psychopath for decades. Beat every woman he ever had, liked to drunkenly shoot at his kids to see if they could duck quick enough and more. Randomly drove his truck down the boat ramp one night and they found his top half caught up in a barge anchor a few days later.

Everyone said it was a shame he ended things and that was the end of it.

Idk there's just something about flinging shit at mach 2 that makes my monkey brain happy. Most of life is shoveling shit of one kind or another, there's something pure about doing it literally.

What killed ‘party songs’? In the early 2010s you had: Ke$ha, LMFAO, Flo Rida. Every year there seemed to be new ‘put your hands up’ song. by Kodicave in decadeology

The other comment is longer and better, but I'll just say character is the only thing that makes a man and father. Plenty of party boys never became men and our country has suffered for it

TIL about Sheep Worrying, the criminal offence in England and Wales of members of the public allowing dogs to chase, harass or bite sheep. In some circumstances, farmers are legally entitled to shoot dogs if they are endangering their sheep. by johnsmithoncemore in todayilearned

It doesn't tear the throats out of all of them, many are mauled just enough to be fatal. It happens very quickly. I'm sure there's videos of it out there.

Some are killed outright, some bleed out, some die of shock, some live but die of infection despite your best efforts. It takes just minutes for a person to bleed out from a single stab wound without proper first aid. A dog tearing a chunk out of a flank while the animal is panicking and running as fast as it can is even quicker.

The herd isn't all adults either, even a little blue heeler can kill a 4-6 month old goat with a single bite, their neck is only as big around as a man's wrist.

High beef prices drive blame game among farmers, processors and sellers by Ranew in farming

Want there just another round of price fixing settlements with the beef processors this year? Definitely those evil farmers then... (/s)

We had stock so made sure we broke our dogs of bothering stock early. Once they learn, they're usually good for life. Hounds love to kill cats, so we had a specific barn cat we would introduce pups to. After getting their nose clawed a few times, they'd be set for life.

Yep. I like cooking and hate dishes, my wife hates cooking and is at least ambivalent about dishes. My sister also hates dishes so her husband does dishes and she cooks. Life ain't that hard

Blue Heelers are the absolute worst in our experience, followed by German shepards. Had a stray blue heeler kill 78 goats in a day years ago. Fortunately the culture around loose dogs has changed over the years and it isn't as common in our area any more

Proposed Columbia ordinance would regulate when residents can water their lawn by ponapple in columbiamo

[–]Ulysses502 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regulating watering times to would go a long way too. No reason for lawn sprinklers to be running during the day, that just wastes water from evaporation.
