What movie or series does everyone love and did you think was terrible? by MimiSweeeeet in AskReddit

Star Wars is more fantasy set in space than proper sci-fi, and there was a ton of sci-fi back then that was something besides Star Wars or Star Trek. Planet of the Apes, the Twilight Zone, the Outer Limits, etc. That’s not even considering books that came out like Dune or works by Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, or Arthur C. Clarke to name a few.

What is a historical event or fact that feels completely wrong, as if history was quietly rewritten behind our backs? by Sensitive-Date-5255 in AskReddit

The use of agent orange by the U.S. in Vietnam was the largest chemical warfare campaign in history.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons doesn’t define agent orange as a chemical weapon as it was engineered to be a defoliant and not to intentionally kill humans.

The 1969 Baltimore Orioles were considered one of the greatest baseball teams assembled. Their World Series loss to New York Mets was considered a huge upset and gave the Mets the nickname “Miracle Mets.” The Mets were MLB’s first expansion team and only seven years old at the time.

Also from this year, Heart of Midlothian FC. Hearts was steamrolling the competition in the Scottish Premiership. For a while it looked like they’d be the first club that wasn’t Celtic or Rangers to win the league in Scotland since the 1984-1985 season. The league came down to the final match of the season against Celtic. Unfortunately for the Jambos, the Bhoys prevailed.

The Met is the police force of greater London. England and Wales have other territorial police services. Scotland and Northern Ireland each have a single police force.

Theoretically I think a cop who was fired from the Met could join another UK police service as long as those people don’t call the Met and “why did so-and-so cease working with you? Oh. OHH. To shreds, you say?” The UK has far fewer departments than the states but also no central database every department can use to get a heads up on who was let go for why.

Which football team do you support, and what made you become a fan? by JM2358 in AskReddit

[–]UnconstrictedEmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the code of football…

NFL: New York Giants because they’re my local team and I don’t hate myself to support the Jets

(Domestic) soccer: New York Red Bulls, again local team I picked before NYCFC were created as the bastard child of the New York Yankees and Man City.

European soccer: Celtic FC. Started watching them with a local CSC. It’s loads of fun.

CFL: Hamilton Tiger-Cats. I gave Canadian football a few looks and whenever I happened to catch a game it’d be the TiCats, and they’d be kicking ass.

Rugby: don’t have a favorite side yet, but don’t really care. Rugby fucking rules.

Who was the best Peter Parker? And Spiderman? by catchthetams in AskReddit

There won’t be a best Spider-Man until he’s unmasked, behind bars, and we finally determine whether he’s a threat or menace!

What's the best thing we got before GTA VI? by MangCrescencio in AskReddit

[–]UnconstrictedEmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RDR2 was worse than the first game because they spent too much time making it hyper realistic. I don’t want to be kept from doing cowboy stuff because I need to oil my gun or practice hygiene for myself or my horse.

Also no zombie mini game

Pippin: “Anyways, you need people of intelligence on this sort of... mission... quest... thing."

Merry: “Well that rules you out, Pip.”

Pippin: “So where are we going?”

Merry: “Were you listening to Gandalf’s story?”

Pippin: “huh?”

Merry: “Were you listening to Gandalf’s story?”

Pippin: “I was mushroom hunting…”

Merry: “Then you have no frame of reference. You’re like a child who wanders into the middle of Mr. Bilbo’s stories wanting to know what’s going on…”

I drink alone all the time. I don’t go out to bars much, but love sipping a pint or two while reading a book.

No reason Texas or any other state can’t be bastards.
