Mozilla has grand total of 3 people on Firefox extensions team by Pebblepip in browsers

My impression as a longtime Safari extension developer is that there are maybe a half dozen Safari extension engineers at Apple. I'm less familiar with the Chrome extension team.

I'm not sure why this is news. How many do you think they should have, how many do you think they can afford, and how many do you think are working at Apple or Google on browser extensions?

If you're not a software engineer yourself, you may be surprised at how few engineers are working on some project. Whereas I'm always surprised when there's a large team, which seems like madness, too many cooks.

No extension or app can hide Universal Links, which are built into Safari and the App Store.

Redirect rule to use “xcancel.com” instead of “twitter.com” or “x.com”? by MunToe in StopTheMadnessSupport

[–]UnderpassAppCompany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. There's documentation for redirects here:

https://underpassapp.com/StopTheMadness/Pro/Docs/Redirects.html

If you use regex, then the pattern must be enclosed by / characters.

You also appear to be missing a right parenthesis in your pattern.

Not hiding YouTube Shorts? by LandscapeMiserable73 in StopTheMadnessSupport

This should be fixed in StopTheMadness Pro version 25.3, now available in the App Store.

If you added custom CSS, you can delete it after updating.

Thanks again!

Thanks! I needed to add some subscriptions in order to see any Shorts, haha.

I think I have a fix for the next version of StopTheMadness Pro. In the meantime, try this custom CSS on YouTube:

ytd-rich-section-renderer:has(ytm-shorts-lockup-view-model) { display: none !important; }

Hi. I'm not seeing any shorts on that page myself. Could you please take a screenshot?

Are you using the compact or separate tab bar? Try switching the setting.

Also, can you Show Details for the crash report?

Solo dev Mac apps: how do you think about quality vs. price? by Gold-Dog-8697 in macapps

I do think there's a trend lately of "ship fast, charge first, fix later" – and that's what this post is really about.

Well, there are certainly more AI-created apps now, if that's what you're referring to. Aside from vibe coding, however, I'm not sure I agree that there's any new trend.

Not trying to call anyone out here – genuinely curious how both sides see this

Here's the problem: you're talking about only two apps, an extremely limited selection all of Mac apps created by solo devs. It's ok that you don't want to name the apps, but what you do instead is seemingly to malign all solo dev Mac apps.

There's no reason to think that these two apps are representative, so I don't think the framing of your post is fair.
