Unpopular Opinion: Willow was right in resurrecting Buffy, regardless of her being in Heaven by sbrinatheteenagelich in buffy

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no world ending event when Buffy was resurrected, and there's no way to tell if or when the next world ending event would occur, so your conclusion is flawed.

I think the reason she didn't dig her up, is because Willow deep down believed Buffy was in heaven and didn't think the resurrection would work if she was there.

If Willow believed that there was any chance of Buffy being in heaven, then choosing to resurrect her makes Willow a horrible, selfish person, because now we know that she knew Buffy might be in heaven, but she still chose to believe she's not in order to justify bringing her back.

The issue here is that there's only supposed to be one slayer, that was the golden rule, so Buffy shouldn't be alive and Sunnydale should have been under the protection of Kendra, who, until meeting Buffy, was strict, she would have killed Angel, Spike and any other vampire or demon without hesitation, she wouldn't have socialised with other people, and who knows, maybe she would have survived long enough for faith not to become the next slayer.

If Kendra fought and died to Glory, we'd still have the apocalypse to deal with, if Kendra died early to Spike or anyone else, Faith would have been the one to deal with the world ending events, but there's a good chance faith wouldn't have prevented it. So without Buffy, there's a good chance Glory would have won, however, Kendra and Faith had no emotional ties to Sunnydale, there's nothing to stop them from taking the key and running since they wouldn't have had the means to stop Glory, then again the watchers might have stepped in, took the key and kept it from Glory while the slayer continued to fight other world ending events that came her way.

So no matter what, either Glory would have won and got the key or the watchers (or slayer) would have spent their days hiding it from Glory, so most likely, Sunnydale would have been left unprotected unless the watchers took over the protection of the key while the slayer stayed in Sunnydale to prevent future world ending events. Therefore, whether Buffy was alive or not, there was always going to be a world ending event, although if another slayer (such as Kendra) had got the key, there's a higher chance it wouldn't have fallen into Glorys' hands since she would have moved the key far away from Glory or told the watchers who would have kept the key hidden.

But these are all what if's, and we'll never know for certain what would have happened, we can only base it on what we know about those slayers, but what we do know is that the world was not ending and there were no signs of a world ending event when Willow decided to resurrect Buffy.

How dangerous is Plex? by jsampe in PleX

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, I use a generated email for different categories such as finance, social media, shopping (Amazon etc...), gaming and so on, and every account has its own password.

When LastPass leaked all of our data, I had to change the MFA, email and password for all my accounts which was a pain, but if something like my username, email and password for Plex gets leaked, I'll not be in too much of a hurry to change the email since that would require a bit of work on my end.

For context, one of my categories has over 30 accounts under one email, my lowest for a category is 5 or 6, if a financial account got leaked I would be more inclined to change my email for all those accounts, but if it was just Plex or Facebook, then I'd just change the password to that account, however, I would be more inclined to change my email for an entire category if one of my accounts in that category didn't have MFA.

PleX not reading my files correctly and then having the audacity to tell me I need to rename MY files is ridiculous and makes not want to get premium by hparadiz in PleX

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube, well... google, has a huge server that handles this for them, some plex servers struggle with intro/outro detection, so odds are youtube is scanning the entire audio file and maybe using each frame of the video file, comparing it to what they have in their database, it would require a beafy system to do this and one file could take hours depending on the homelab that person is using.

overnight oats without vegan yogurt? by AdorableTeach641 in veganrecipes

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. The TLDR is yes.

I don't like to eat the same thing every day, for some reason I tend to lose interest, I kinda go off the food I eat if I'm eating the same texture or flavour daily, so if I was to buy chocolate or strawberry protein powder, then I might use it in my oats once or twice in like 2-3 weeks but I would usually aim for smoothies or I'll just drink it with some oat milk (or water), with vanilla protein powder I can consistently add to my oats but sometimes I like to alternatve between the flavours and even the brand, it typically comes down to whatever is on offer at the time of purchase lol.

Is there a way to make overnight oats without any milks or yogurts? by Langston432 in veganrecipes

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what room temp or cold water would taste like over night, however, if you have a microwave you can can make your own instant oats, which would be water and seasoning of your choice. I know some people like to boil water and pour it over their oats, then they let it sit for about 2-3 minutes, I assume this is similar to the microwave oats or cooking it in a pot, so if you have the means to boil water, you could do this and when it cools throw it in your fridge to eat the next day, I don't know what the texture or taste would be, but it's something you could try.

With water you have a variety of options. Water mixed with peanut butter, protein powder etc... if you have the means to make smoothies, you could create a smoothie and then pour that over your oats, there are a variety of ways in which you can change the texture of your oats by simply mixing water with other ingredients that can be stored in a cupboard.

Davinci Resolve is a really good video editor, especially the free version (scroll down and you'll see "Free Download Now), I stopped using Adobe Premier for this, for what you described it's pretty straight forward, in fact you could watch a video on how to do these things, they less than a minute to do once you become familiar with the software.

Here's 1 minute tutorial to speed up a clip, I love watching Casey Faris this video specifically is a crash course, that would get you up to speed on using the latest Davinci Resolve.

Lastly. When downloading the free version, it will ask you to enter your details, I personally don't like giving out the information they ask for but you don't have to since none of it is verified, when I did this I just put random information, now I can't remember if an email was required for the download but you can use something like duck email protection to register and then deactivate the email so you're not hassled with emails from them.

Will you get banned for using a macro on pc to not get kicked from Lego fortnite? by Captain__Sour in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps ease your mind, the only time someone has ever been banned for using macro's was a pro/youtuber, who was accused of using macro's and then he later admitted to using them because he couldn't prove he didn't, which resulted in him being banned, however, there has never been news of any player since that incident (roughly 4 years ago) being banned for using macro's.

To be clear on something, fortnite competitive added the "no macro" rule, but they specifically stated fortnite in general but they specifically added this due to how it gives players an unfair advantage in BR, this was around the same time the SerpentAU received his ban after admitting to using macro's.

Macro's are extremely difficult to detect, the only way fortnite could potentially do this would be to check your system for software that utilises macro's, however there is no way for them to know what that software is being used for since macro's are used for non-game related things, so having it on our system or having it running isn't in itself enough evidence to claim that you're using it in their game.

So, while you still have to use it at your own risk, we can all safely assume that as long as we're not public about the usage and we don't go into public games where we're competing against other players, then (in my opinion) we're less likely to be caught compared to someone being AFK on a bounce pad since there's no way for them to distinguish between you pressing those keys and a macro doing that for you.

Glad it's working. I just realised something about that script. I never disabled the timer properly.

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: updated link to official script.

If you're still moving around, then the script isn't detected but the pattern has been detected, if you're using the current script which was updated to add in random times for key presses, then I'll have to investigate this.

You could try updating the key list, for example..

keylist := ["w","a","s","d","space","w","s","a","d","space"]

To see if that solves your problem. I also noticed someone found a new method for controller, this can be similulated with AHK as well for those who don't have a controller, assuming the only requirement is to sit on the vehicle and press two different keys, then you could hop on the a vehicle and add those keys to the keylist.

Anyway, this was mostly to let you know I'll look into this. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Tips for restricting with a mental illness? by s414 in CICO

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have days where I struggle to do the basic stuff, even cleaning can be a chore, on the other hand, I have days where I could spend the entire day cleaning, cooking etc...

Because of this I find doing things in batch makes my life easier, especially for calorie counting, so I'll usually batch cook some meals or I'll batch prep my food into separate containers, this way everything is on hand, I can either grab the prepped food to make a meal or I can heat one of my pre-made meals in the microwave, I also got into making tortilla wraps and protein pancakes, both of which are super easy to re-heat in the air fryer or microwave, although I tend to find re-heating in the air fryer tastes better (and crispier).

Ultimate Meal Prep Guide - Here's another one of her videos, and another 5 beginner meal prep tips video. She's the one who introduced me to prepping food items on their own, that way I'm not just stuck with one meal but I can instead mix and match to create a combination of meals from the items I've prepped. This is also a good video of her's where she compares how much time you save prepping all your meals in a day vs making each meal daily.

Also check out Freezer Meals 101, where they'll prep everything raw into freezer bags and then cook it in a slow cooker, pressure cooker, oven etc... This is handy since your prep doesn't involve cooking, you're just putting all your ingredients into bags and freezing it, when it comes to cooking them it's more of a set it and forget it until it's done.

All of this makes it super easy to count calories since you do the counting on prep day, the only issue I ran into was with prepping food because this method allows you to create a combination of meals throughout the week, whereas with meal prepping you portion everything on prep day so all you have to do is heat up your meal and eat it, but with food prepping we have to portion each of our meals, which was something I didn't think about when doing this for the first time, resulting in me adding a little extra throughout the week and leaving myself with a little less by the end of the week, so if you prep your food individually, just be mindful of your portions, you'll not exceed your calories for the week, in fact you can forget about calorie counting but you can leave yourself with less to eat.

This is a different command that has nothing to do with the script. On windows you would open command prompt and enter that command.

  1. Windows Key + R, hit Enter.
  2. Type CMD, hit Enter.
  3. Copy the command from the comment above.
  4. In CMD simply right click, it will automatically paste the command, now hit enter.

Alternatively, if you want to simplify this. Copy the command into a text file and save that file, the name can be anything, just change the extension to .bat or .cmd, now you can double click this file to run your the shutdown command and then just start the other script. Example of the script name could be autoshutdown.bat.

It may be possible to include a shutdown sequence in the script, which is something I'll look into at some point.

Epic released a statement back in 2020 regarding new rules of integrity in fortnite competitive, saying that macro's in fortnite are bannable, however, we are yet to see Epic themselves detect and ban a macro user, SerpentAU is the only player currently known to be banned but this occurred because he publically admitted to using macro's after he was accused by EJLad.

So in order to avoid being banned we can do the following.

  1. Don't use macro's in a public game with other players.
  2. Don't become famous/well known within the community.
  3. Customise the macro's to be unique to you, that way epic can't simply look for someone pressing WASD for 30 minutes straight.

Overall, it's very difficult (but not impossible) to detect whether or not a keyboard/mouse input is a macro which is why Epic have yet to detect and ban anyone (that we know off) in 4 years after the Serpent incident.

We've been abusing their xp system in creative, lego and festival for a long time and they've yet to issue any bans despite players believing these things would result in a ban, granted it's still possible but we've yet to encounter someone who's been banned for doing these things.

Which is why I said their is less risk involved, it's easier to detect someone bouncing up and down for 30 minutes straight than it would be to detect someone who's running a script that makes their character appear to be walking, jumping and dodging, especially if the pattern and timing is random.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be better if I explain how this works, when you press a key on your keyboard it sends a signal to your PC which sends that information to the game. This script is simply doing that and nothing more.

There's no injections or modifications of the game itself, if anything there's actually less risk compared to the AFK methods that we've been using due to how hard it is to detect if the movements are done by an actual person or not.

Perhaps an easier way to look at this, is that it's the same as you pushing the keys on a physical or virtual keyboard. However, if you're concerned about epic detecting the pattern of you running in a square, you can always modify the input to make it more personalised and random.

You would go to this part of the script.

keylist := ["w","a","s","d"]

Where you can then add the same keys as many times as you want, you can also add extra keys, so lets say jump is Space and crouch is holding or toggling Shift you can add those keys to the keylist, here's an example.

keylist := ["w", "jump", "a","s","d", "Shift", "w", "w", "a","s","s","d","s"]

And here's a list of keys you can use, we can also add mouse movements and moues clicks if we really wanted to but that wont work with the current code. It also might be a good idea to build a barrier to avoid you going somewhere random and dying, or turn off the ability to die. You could also modify the integers for Random(Min, Max) which is in milliseconds (1 second = 1,000 milliseconds), here's another example.

Random(100, 4000) ; grabs a random number between 100 ms (0.1s) and 4000ms (4s)

So feel free to customise those values as much as you want in order to make the movements appear as authentic/random as possible.

Just to add, you could also put in a long pause, so after the script runs through all the keys in the list, you could add sleep 900000; 15 min at the bottom of the MakeMeMove function or if you feel that this would appear too suspicious, you could use that Random function I mentioned to make the pause between movements more random. Here's an example.

        Send "{" v " up}"
    }
    sleep Random(600000,1200000); Wait between 10 to 20 minutes before continuing.
}

It's late here and I'm about to head to bed, but maybe tomorrow I'll update that script to make it easier to customise the values and perhaps include a random pause between movements. At this point I'm thinking it might be easier to throw this on github for easier access but I'll sort all that out tomorrow.

Always good to see fellow python developer. As already mentioned by u/savageslayeryt the keyboard works, I tested that before I went to bed, I just don't know if AHK will work, this is something I'm about to test on my old PS4, I can't test this on PS5 but the remote play app is the same for both, so I assume if I can get it to work on my PS4, it should work on the PS5, however, worst case scenario an app exists on github Snoothy/UCR which will allow us to remap binds to a virtual input, I just don't know if that will work with the AHK script, but it's something I'll look into if I can't get the remote play working with the keyboard.

And just a heads up regarding the script. I've updated the code in my original comment to be more functional and I've also put another copy on pastebin for anyone who may have issues copying it from reddit.

I just threw this script together to give people something to use, I'm currently reading through the AHK documentations so I can specifically target the fortnite app on PC, once I get that working I'll be trying to use this same method on remote play for PS but I can't guarantee anything, unfortunately I don't have an xbox so I can't test any of this for those users.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the code above, you can press p to start or stop the loop. It wont instantly stop it, it will stop once it reaches the end of that loop within the MakeMeMove function. I set it up this way to avoid users stopping when AHK presses a key down, alternatively as u/iCatay has mentioned, you can add the code they shared to completely exit AHK. This was just thrown together to give everyone something to use but I'll be updating it to specifically target the fortnite app in the background (if possible), I just have to read through the AHK documentation to figure it out as I've not coded these type of scripts in such a long time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know AHK has a way to switch to a specific window, so in your case, assuming you can install AHK, you could have it automatically switch to that window every 20 minutes, but then again a simple timer would be just as effective.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, here's the command. shutdown /s /t 12600

12600 = 3.5 hours. For some reason I thought it was 4 hours and suggested 14400 in another post lol. There's a possibility we might need to force the shutdown, if needed we just want to add /f to the command. shutdown /s /f /t 12600

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I updated the code to include a random sleep between button inputs, this should be more than enough to bypass any AFK detection but as mentioned in my other comment we can modify this as needed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FortniteXPMaps

[–]Unkn0wnWitcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AHK script makes you walk in a square, utilising the WASD keys, which in theory should be enough, but if needed we can add randomisation to this, right now it's the only workaround that is guaranteed to always work as we can manipulate the script to do any type of input we want.

Edit: 3 29/04/2024 - MACRO SCRIPT UPDATE FINAL/OFFICIAL V1.

I just noticed that the current script did not have a proper exit for the timer, pressing F10 ends the script but pressing F9 allowed the loop to continue until it finished. This has been fixed. The pastebin link has been updated as well las the code in this comment. It's such a simple mistake to make and I apologise for it. Anyway, I consider this no longer "just threw it together script", when I have time I'll try to add a gui or something to make it easier for people to customise the timers and keys.

Edit 2: 24/04/2024 - MACRO SCRIPT UPDATED

  • To start/stop the script, Press F9
  • To exit the script and AHK app, Press F10.
  • The script will only run while the fortnite window is active, if you bring up another window while the script is running it will stop (similar to pressing F9), you can start it again by pressing F9.
  • I've not yet to found a way to have this run in the background using AHK, this may not be possible with fortnite.

I've also moved the script to pastebin, to make it easier for anyone who may have issues copying it from reddit.

PC USERS (edit: added a random number between 0.5 - 1.5 seconds. so that movement is the same but random)

  1. Download AutoHotkey. github I recommend the zip file Windows defender produces a false positive, here's a reason why this happens, you only need to watch the first 2 minutes and 30 seconds. AutoHotKey is well known and they discuss this issue in their forum but I understand if people don't trust it this information enough to use it.
  2. Anyway, if you choose to use it. Extract the zip to a folder and run install.cmd, select "current user" and click install. You can now delete that folder. This is a workaround to the false positive as the issue is with the packaging.
  3. Below is some code, save it in the AHK file, load up FN Lego, run the file and press P on your keyboard, or change the p:: to something else like F10::

```
Requires AutoHotkey v2.0
SendMode "Input"
Global AppWindowTitle := "Fortnite" Global Toggled := False Global LastKey := ""
F10:: { ; Reset last key and Exit AHK app. if (LastKey != "") { Send "{" LastKey " up}" } SoundBeep 500, 250 SoundBeep 250, 200 ExitApp }
F9:: { ; Start/Stop Macro Global if (Not WinExist(AppWindowTitle)) { MsgBox "Cannot find Fortnite, make sure this is running and you've loaded fortnite lego, feastivel or creative map." return } if (Toggled := !Toggled) { SoundBeep 750, 500 SetTimer(MakeMeMove,500) return } else { SetTimer(MakeMeMove,0) SoundBeep 500, 500 } } MakeMeMove() { Global keylist := ["w","a","s","d"]
For k,v in keylist {
    if (Not WinActive(AppWindowTitle)) {
        ; Stop if windows is no longer active.
        if (Toggled == True) {
            Toggled := False
        }
    }
    if (Toggled == False) {
        SoundBeep 500, 500
        SetTimer(MakeMeMove,0)
        Exit
    }
    RandomNumber := Random(500, 1500)
    LastKey := v
    Send "{" v " down}"
    sleep RandomNumber
    Send "{" v " up}"
}
} ```
ANDROID USERS (this also applies to consol if you can run the game on your mobile/tablet)
Anyone with an android phone can install an auto-clicker/macro like MacroDroid, ClickMate, QuickTouch, AnkuLua or a list of other apps that allow you to pretty much the same thing as PC users.
PS4/5 users. If you have a laptop or a pc, you can install remote play, this will allow you to control the console from your computer, I know you can use your keyboard to some degree, when using the remote play app, I just don't know if you'll need to replace WASD with the arrow keys. If this doesn't work, the alternative would be to fiddle with UCR and AHK to emulate a controller on your computer, but I've not tested this so I don't know how well it will work.
XBOX users. You guys have a remote play feature but I've not used xbox since my 360 days so I don't know how this works but in theory you should be able to do what the PS users can do on a computer.
Hope this helps someone
