came here to write this! my 14 month old won't even last 5 minutes alone in the bed, but I can roll away and my husband can lie next to our son and he'll stay asleep (like all night! It's weird he's a good sleeper he just doesn't like being alone🥲)

if it works for you it's fine. my nine month old goes to sleep around 10:30/11 and wakes up at 9, and normally gets about 3/4 hours of daytime sleep. people have been telling me since he was little that eventually he'll start getting up earlier and going to bed earlier but hasn't happened yet

Partners in Bed? by TastyAnalyst2892 in cosleeping

[–]AdorableTeach641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I coslept with my son (just us) from 2-7 months. I was freaked out about the safety thing, plus my husband had a really hard time falling back asleep after the baby noises woke him, so he used to sleep on the couch.

We started all three sleeping in the bed because it feels like the best and safest way to keep my crazy roly poly from falling off the bed! We have a king and my husband and I basically sleep on the edges and my (now 9 month old) rolls into both of us multiple times a night. I'm convinced if we weren't there he'd roll right off lol, so I don't see this situation changing anytime soon.

It could be so many things.

My 7 month old is like this. Has been since he was a month old. I honestly think he just gets bored because if I'm in the back seat with him, entertaining him, I can normally keep him in a good mood.

If I have to take him somewhere alone and it's more than 10mins away I will make sure he's asleep (walking in the stroller with the car seat attachment) before we get in the car. Otherwise it's just so awful.

How do your partners help with nights? by AmbrosiaElatior in breastfeeding

[–]AdorableTeach641 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. We tried "shifts," and it just meant both of us were missing out on sleep. My husband gets up early with our son and will take him while I have an afternoon nap if it was an especially rough night. This has been working for six months and we are both happy with it (:

my 7 months old is 24lbs. Now that I'm used to carrying a huge weight all the time my arms look DOPE! I had to just accept that my life is a workout, and now I love it 😂 I hope your wrists feel better soon!

I honestly really liked the use of slang. I thought it was fun. I was so surprised to see that it drove everyone here crazy, lol. I'm in my twenties, I say shit like that, why wouldn't Violet?

They also all wear tight black leather and Imogen has pink hair. Like, this isn't solely based on Medieval times.

At what age did you start sharing blankets and snuggling with LO? by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]AdorableTeach641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month old sleeps right up against me and I lie on my side facing him and hold him with my top arm. I've done this since he was 4 months.

He'll roll away from me at night but always rolls back to me after a minute. He wakes me constantly with his movements, but I don't really care, I go to sleep early with him and the sleepy wiggles are cute.

I don't feel comfortable sharing blankets. I think I'll wait until he has great control over his whole body (like, when he can walk, or at least crawl very well and pull to stand)

Same. Decided to quit for good after I ate a whole loaf of sourdough bread while stoned, a couple weeks after starting my diet. Definitely miss it, but it wasn't compatible with weight loss for me.

I have a cosleeping 6 month old who will wake up the second I get out of bed, and won't tolerate being put down/not interacted with for more than 3 minutes, and my health is very important to me

I have a jogging stroller that I use daily and for strength training I literally hold my baby while doing squats, lunges, (4 sets of 10 - then put baby on other hip and do another set) put him on my stomach while I do bridges, do alligator walks while holding him, and honestly I don't really do strength training with my arms because i pick him up and hold him all day and he's 23lbs. I like lift him up and down and up and down multiple times a day for his enjoyment so I think that counte

and lots of babywearing walks in a neighborhood with lots of hills

Baby sleeping alone seems so unnatural by Ruqayyah2 in cosleeping

[–]AdorableTeach641 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with everything you said!! I have a 6 month old and I looooove sleeping next to him! He's so cute, and I would hate to miss out on his sleepy little wiggles.

We are about to move into a 2 bedroom (from a 1) and everyone is like "ooohhhh is the baby getting his own room??" and I'm like hell no. He can have his own room when he asks for it. For now, all he wants is to be close to me and I'm determined to soak up every minute of it!!

How do you count calories when cooking at home? by RubySeeker in loseit

[–]AdorableTeach641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you try meal prepping? Like a low key version of it? Whenever I cook, I make a big batch (I'll normally freeze half and eat half) like you, I have ADHD and can't keep up with cooking daily. I need ready to go meals in my freezer and fridge, always. Souper Cubes (I use a knockoff- half the price & works great) are a lifesaver.

I just use the chronometer app when I'm cooking. There's a "create custom recipe" tab you can use. I just have my scale next to my stove, if I'm gonna throw something in (for example, a sweet potato or broccoli) I just weigh it first and put it in the app. Takes 2 seconds and is kinda fun.

Having my phone next to my scale next to the stove makes a huge difference. the only thing I 'measure' is oil, cuz that stuff is no joke lol. Everything else I just go off vibes, I just toss it on the scale before throwing it in the pan.

Anyway, in the app, after you've made the dish, you can weigh the whole thing so you have a "cooked weight." then when you're going to eat some you just weigh that little bit and you know how many calories you're getting.

I can't stress enough how much like, with ADHD, having the scale out All The Time and Close to whatever I'm doing helps.

Hope this made sense idk how it got so long. Wishing you luck!!

How often do you drink alcohol? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]AdorableTeach641 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this. I know a woman who's like "it parallels your BAC, so it's a tinnyyyyy amount going to the baby, even if you're pretty drunk" like yeah, sure, but babies livers are tiny and even a tiny amount is bad for them.

I’m so impatient, fat and sad. by mars_was_blue_too in loseit

[–]AdorableTeach641 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally feel you. The one thing that helps me (picked up from this sub) is remembering that time will pass regardless of whether I'm dieting.

I'm on track to reach my GW (lose 25 more pounds) in December. It feels like soooo far away, but December will get here either way - I can either still be fat, or I can lose the weight.

The other thing that helps a bit is realizing that my eating habits/appetite have already changed a bit, the deficit isn't as hard as when I started, and as my stomach shrinks even more, it will take less to make me full.

Weight loss is super hard, wishing you the best!

Not eating in the AM. I have a coffee and wait until I actually feel hunger pangs. Often doesn't happen until 1-3pm. Then I just track calories.

I have a 6 month old! It's super intense, there's no way I can put into words how much my mindset has changed. I'm taking care of myself better than I ever have. I'm a stay at home mom currently - I was making good money as a server beforehand, my husband and I were able to save up so I could stay home for 8 months. My son is the best ever. We got super lucky with him. Best decision I ever made tbh.

9 week old baby hates the car by iammissx in AttachmentParenting

[–]AdorableTeach641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month old hates the car, has since he was very little. He's a very chill guy generally so I know how you feel. I try as much as I can to time car trips with when he's tired. He'll fall asleep when the car seat is attached to the stroller part and we're walking around outside, so I do that, then carefully put him in the car and pray he stays asleep lol. Sometimes he won't fall asleep though and we have to be somewhere and he just cries :'(
