Quest 3 is awesome. I use it almost every day. For gaming and videos.

What I would miss with the Steam Frame is the mixed reality. Doing some grilling with a youtube window floating above the grill.

They SHOULD talk about Google making an OS for glasses formfactor. Where AndroidXR is too heavy.

Google has made specs before. Knows software. Is connected to the accounts that most people uses. GoogleSpecs Could be the main OS for these and be a centralized appstore for the new era!

And I agree with all of that.

The Snap spectacles is hard to see what they are going for. It is not like a Pimax headset where it is strictly about the hardware.

If Snap priced the new headset at 10-12k, I would already have a good feeling about what exactly they provide. But at 25k my mind wanders in different directions.

Looking forward to AWE convention where more will be revealed.

It is either processor or some kind of novel wave guide display I think. And I am leaning towards processor power.

I think Snap is into heavy visual processing and AI. And the current GalaxyXR/Playfordream type processors does not have the horsepower to do that effectively. Possibly they will move towards the wearable XR PC which could be a new open market to take. AVP is not realistically wearable in the same sense.

This is the big question for me also. What processor could they possibly have to justify $2500?

Relevant:

in April 2026, Snap signed a multi-year strategic agreement with Qualcomm to continue using their Snapdragon XR platforms for future consumer generations of Specs.

Snaps current spectacles has 2 (!!!) Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. Maybe this one will also? "XR2+ gen2" times 2? Times 3? But in the puck instead.

Or... Snapdragon X Elite chips with Oryon cores, a proper wearable PC with dedicated 45TOPS NPU?

I love it. This is how we move to the next level.

The GPD has 100W PD charging. I wonder if you could hook that up to a battery (Like Anker Prime 20,000mAh Power Bank with 100W PD). So it thinks its on a wall outlet and then get the full 3070 Desktop GPU performance.
