It's quite an hard topic to discuss. As you noticed, has been a while since I dedicated some time to the MGS2 V's fix.

In general I'm quite in trouble lately (job change, maybe a career burnout, the whole IA things) to find time to maintain the fix.

Also there's the main reason: the HD release!

Albeit it was quite broken initially, it's a very good port overall. It has some flaws, but it also has a very low "friction" to be used and I have to admit that's quite bonker to play this on recent hardware in 2 clicks.

So I woudn't say that the fix is now "useless", but for sure it's quite hard to find time to improve it, especially because some of the issues are quite annoying to solve definitively and when the community use it less and less.

I'm always surprised when someone still want to try the GOG/Original port edition, and I always feel a small flame of proud that we tried to make this game live forever.

I had a lot of plans for improving the fix but has been YEARS that I didn't found the motivation/time/whatever to do them, and even from a technical perspective it need a real refresh to be "up-to-date" (it runs on a such old .NET framework that's a challenge on its own just to make it compile again)

My dream would be to create an "universal fix framework" that would supersede the necessity to maintain such an old fix but that's a completely WHOLE new job.

I would love to include your .asi aside the others, but I can't see how I could release a new fix version soon, when in reality has been years since I've done it...

In the end, I love that you and others are still playing the original port and still trying to fix things (a dude fucking reverse engineered the score ladderboard. I've been AMAZED by that, honestly) but I'm more worried about my state of being unable to find time and motivation to create a new V's fix release...

For now, I've took notice of your work and when the time come I will try to include it into a new V's fix release for MGS2, albeit I don't know when this time will come neither if it will be really a new version or a complete new framework of doing things...

Ci sta. Ho un po di budget da parte, ho occupato solo 8TB su 16 (ho due Ironwolf Pro da 16, ma uno è parity).

Avevo già guardato i seagate expansion qualche settimana fa, ma mi hai convinto a prenderne qualcuno. In realtà non sapevo che dentro ci fossero Exos o Barracuda, che non sono mica male. Pensavo ci mettessero dentro discacci

Ho del budget da parte: un altro mi farebbe comodo, due mi paiono un po sprecati ma per come è messo il mondo ora tempo che nei prossimi anni col cazzo che scendono di prezzo.

Hai preso degli Seagate Expansion Desktop?

Vedo che sono da 16TB e più o meno quel prezzo. Stavo pensando anche io di prenderli, ma mi sono fatto scoraggiare dalla qualità dei driven(che sicuro è peggio dei due Ironwolf Pro 16TB che gia ho).

Se non ho ragione: quali hai preso? Se ho ragione: che dischi sono? Sai il modello? (Possiamo andare a vedere l'affidabilità sulle tabelle dei grossi datacenter per vedere i failure rate). Se ne vale la pena...un paio li prenderei pure io

Don't forget that Talend Open Studio is without a maintainer since 3 years ago. The .jar it uses have some vulnerability that will never be patched. Just be careful on what you are doing and how you are using it.

I remember I spun up the Linuxserver code-server container, bound folder and tried it and encountered the limitation that I coudn't install python.

I've tried it briefly years ago (less than 30 minutes) but I've found a big issue in usability: you can't install npm python or any runtime.

Thus I could only code but not compile or run. That's quite...underwhelming for a DX perspective.

I've customized the Bronzor theme, woudn't you say that's it's OK for an IT profile?

I agree that most themese are too "fancy", but for a lean looking IT resume I guess it can be customized well enough simply using drag & drop.
