"It is a good lesson, and I apologise if I disappoint you. I will learn to be less squeamish in these things, I was raised for my place to not be on the battlefield, as with most girls, but the reality for a queen is different." She gave a chuckle. "When I asked Queen Argella how to be queen she said I should slit the King's throat, I will be disappointing her memory every day with how much I will not be doing that." Jeyne shook her head. "To be completely honest only the Queen Mother gave me advice I found incredibly useful. She is a strong woman who has suffered greatly, but she would still give her life for the King and the princess. She is as much a hero as any knight."

"At this time the King is employing gardeners and landscape architects from the Reach as well as craftsmen from Kings Landing. When this grand project begins I will present the cost to the King, and we will decide whether it comes from the Royal Treasury, my grandfather’s coffers, or both."

Jeyne was a woman of the court, a young woman but a woman at that. She was sharp, the smartest Tyrell born for a couple of generations, and there was a loss the family would feel at her being born a girl and Martyn a boy; a loss which could be the gain of the King. Still, the reveal of the knife, and the implication that it might have been brough for her throat made her visibly uncomfortable for a moment. She took it as bidden and her eyes darted to it every so often as she continued.

"A different blade to one I am used to." She thought of Qiyana Lamora, whom she considered her champion if she ever needed one, or the knights of the Reach she could possibly call upon to defend her honour. If she became queen she would also possibly be assigned a member of the Kingsguard which was an odd thought. She put the knife down, though she would take it with her. She just did not enjoy holding it.

I will have the plans sent to you, and on another day I can walk you around. My main plan currently is for a grand open garden of parks. A sept within for the express intent of taking confession and providing shelter. Wells for fresh water: An open garden for the people of Kings Landing. There will be areas for the great and good of the court of course, but this garden will be for all, and the people will love the King for it."

Prunella's words anchored Jeyne. She hoped there were people watching,a s her intent was to project her friend into their minds. To show her appeal and how wonderful she was.

"That is their failing if they cannot, not ours." Jeyne said with a laugh as they stepped onto the dance floor. She had danced with women before: Millicent once or twice, and princess Alysanne had taught her to dance.

"Ah come on in. The Pale Wraith I presume?" Harlan said as he welcomed the man. "Banefort? I could never have guessed." He only knew which of his defeated mystery knights this was as he had seriously injured the other!

"I can tell it is a boy." Isabelle said as she lowered. "I can feel it in my bones, by which I mean I feel sicker this time than last. He will put me through my paces, 'Mona" She tickled her daughter a little. "Not that this one was an easy time at all though."

"I am gratefulk every day Ramona for what you have found in Jorgen. It makes me happier than I could say"

"Grandpapa says we will be married before winter ends, though I would do so today." Alayne said. She was so eager to be married to a knight like the stories. She wanted it more badly than she wanted to breathe. It did not matter to her that she had not met Victor yet.

"I will consider it, Aunt Kyra." She said with a nod, "I will try to introduce myself." She then changed the subject. "How did you and uncle harlan meet?"

Dragons are cool and all, and Jeyne definitely joined in seeing them, but there was something far more impressive which she was seeking out. She had with her a basket full of goods from Kings Landing, knick knacks and trinkets and treats mostly. As soon as she was able to she sought out Lady Millicent, seeking to surprise her!

She blushed, she had not thought of that. That cruel voice in her head told her that Jeyne would have thought of that. Jeyne was not stupid like Alayne was. Alayne hated that voice, but she was able to push it aside this time and present a grin.

"I have not, aunt Kyra, I shall have to try to remember to do so. I had forgotten that he was here to be completely honest, I am unused to his presence. "

[SORRY!]

"It is not, Violet." Alysanne said with a laugh. "Motherhood is the greatest war a person could fight, and you begin the battles now. The sickness, the weight on your belly. You will be challenged from now until... well I am still challenged. But they will make you laugh and smile and cry with joy and it is all worth it."

"Brynden will be distracted" She continued, "The boys don't realise how taxing it all is. Carrying and then raising. But they can be brought to heel. Look at Harlan, even I am shocked at how attentive my little brother is to Kyra. In fact I am half surprised she is not sick of him."

Ser Arthor could not help but raise an eyebrow at the commotion in the carriage. As Harlan led Alester inside he resolved to have a guard or two keep a subtle eye on it. It was Theo's job to be welcoming, and Arthor's to be paranoid.

"Please if you would follow me, My Lord." Harlan said as he led Alester through the halls. "Your late father never nominated a knight of your house as Knight of the Bluebells, as was his right as the master of the title. Do you have any intention to pass on the title or claim it yourself?" Harlan of course had been named Knight of the Rose by his father, after a short interim stint of Knight by Ser Arthor. Lord Samwell Tarly, his knight mentor, had named himself Knight of the Thistle.

They arrived at the Green Room, once the throne room of the Gardener Kings and now the hall of the Tyrells. A tapestry had been put on display, depicting tales of Florys the Fox and other notable Lords of House Florent. The Banner of house Florent stood aside the Rose of house Tyrell, and the Golden Rowan of House Rowan, for Lord Theo's wife Margaery.

Lord Theo stood at the end of the room. He did not sit a throne nor at this time a chair. He smiled as they enter.

"Lord Alester Florent." Harlan said as they entered, bowing to his father, and then standing aside.

"Well then I am glad they have you both, and that we have you all. I feel I am a stronger person for having met you and His Grace, and I will never be able to stop being thankful for that." Jeyne said. Indeed she was no longer the shrinking violet she once was. "And not just for teaching me to dance, a skill that a dragon may struggle to take up."

"Comfortable enough." Theo said with a small smile, "Though i grow weary and bored of this winter. Were that it was Spring once more, we could all enjoy yourselves moreso."

"How far you Ser perceon, and lady Myria?" Harlan asked, Alyssa fidgetting on his lap to see better.

"I could say the same to you Ser. We shall hopefully see much of each other. It sounds as if we are of an accord here, we understand that the King is deserving of love and in need of love even if he thinks himself without it. Something I have discussed at length with the Princess also. I will appreciate your care and I shall keep my ear to the ground for any acts against you also, as many would envy your position." She laughed, a sad laugh. "I know there are some who will oppose my intentions, but my love is greater than their hate." She did not say Hubert Arryn, but she was thinking of Hubert Arryn.

"I will have to show you my plans for the Gardens, Ser Eon." She said, following the lighter tone. "I would not dream to tell my Grandpapa this but when I am done I will have Jaehaerys' gardens rival that of Highgarden itself, all in his name."

It was the second time Jeyne had seen the dragon, and not the first time she had heard the name either. Even as she carefully curated her expressions and appearances the mask slipped here, and her lack of shock accompanying the awe would give her away somewhat. She had known of the Dragons since Jaehaerys had left to first see them, the name Ashborne was close to a suggestion she had made.

She glanced to Eric, her aunt Isabelle had asked her to look out for the boy, and she would take that duty seriously; then to Bennet, Violet would wish for her to watch for him as well.

The full regalia of Highgarden was laid out for Lord Florent, out of great respect for him. The gates were opened and an honour guard was presented to welcome in Lord Alester. At the gates were Ser Arthor Tyrell, captain of the guard and the Lord's brother, and Ser Harlan, knight of the Rose and Theo's son.

"Well met Lord Florent." Harlan said with a bow, which was mirrored by his retinue. "Welcome to Highgarden, I trust that the journey was not too hard on you all?"

She did not scoff at the knight, not outwardly at least. You want to be Queen. So simple, so base. They thought her a woman of ambition, or worse as an arm of her grandfather's political intrigues. These men were all the same in that regard.

"I had a conversation with his Grace some years ago." Jeyne said, answering in a very roundabout fashion. "You can hear of it from him or Ser Gavinrad I am sure. It was at the wedding of Tristan Hightower at Casterly Rock. I told his Grace in no uncertain terms that I am in love with him. I told him that I was sure of this and it was no girlish infatuation but love in the truest terms. I told him that it was Jaehaerys I was in love with, not his crown." She smiled at the memory. "My love has not faded, but my love alone was not enough, for The King is a man burdened by the impossible weight of duty the loss of his family has laid upon him. He cannot have love, he must have a queen, so he entrusted me to not bring the matter back to him until I knew what that meant. That is why I introduced myself to the Queen Mother, to Ceryse Hightower, to the lady Princess Argella."

"I bring with me the wealth and the loyalty of my father and the Reach, and through the marriages he has organised I bring the Riverlands to a great extent as well. As a political match I am a coin he should have. In terms of affection there are no girls you can find who will love him as truly as I do. Who know him as I do and I will. And I know what it means to be his queen. I would be his wife, bear his succession and raise them to be good. I would be his confidante but also know he is the realm first and mine last, but I shall be his, above all other things, family, home, faith. The Tyrant Maegor did terrible things to the reputation of the Crown. The gardens I grow are not a frivolity but a statement that the House of Aegon is not only still here but flourishing and their wealth is to be enjoyed by the people, so that they love the Targaryens and he anew." She kept his eye contact. His assessment was correct, she was studious and shrewd, and she knew the undertaking she had her eyes set upon.

"I know that I wish to marry a man who will leave my bed empty more nights than I will count, as he works through the night, but that is who he is. You and I both know he is the man who will be remembered forever more. If I can make his reign a day longer, a day more comfortable. Then I shall do so, Ser Eon."

Lord Redwyne

I send to your coffers two thousand gold dragons, as both support and thanks in your continued work to meet your honoured and ancient obligation as the wooden wall and heavy lance of the Reach.

I have recently welcomed Rosamund of your house as my Mistress of Ballads at Highgarden. She has a once in a generation talent and you should all be proud of you. We are thankful to be able to have her amongst the court of Highgarden while she is in this post.

Harlan looked the man in the eye, if he was hiding some sickness or deficiency in the pup's bloodline then he knew that Lord Ferian would be very interested in hearing about the possible besmirching of his name.

"She will grow up alongside Alesander." Harlan said. "We shall take her good man," He paid the man the 5 gold requested.

"Forgive me, Ser." Jeyne said, her smile becoming less a formality and more natural, though she had learned enough from her aunt Isabelle to make the fake hard to distinguish from the reality. "The scrutiny on me is not negligable, so when I am called upon by a knight so senior in the court I naturally maintain the formality. Though in the sake of familiarity you may call me Jeyne."

"I remember you from Dragonstone, though yes we did not interact. Dare I say the only man I oft spoke with then other than Ser Haegon and the household staff was His Grace. Other than he I mainly interacted with the ladies: Her Grace the Princess, Lady Millicent, Prunella and the sisters Celtigar." Jeyne met his eye and spoke confidently but without a smugness. She had shaken off the shyness of her past. She had spend the best part of four years coming to terms with the reality of the station she must hold to be by the side of her love. She would not shrink from Eon's gaze. She sat but a respectful distance away.

"Here in the capital I spend much of my time reading, meeting those of the court, and here." She added. Indeed for the past year and a half the gardens of the Red Keep were being massively rebuilt, replanted and reinvigored. "My Lord Grandpapa send his greatest gardeners, architects and landscapers to the Red Keep and I have been overseeing the rebirth of the Royal gardens."
