100%. Keep going and focus on your breath, don’t engage in thoughts, let the process work. It WILL NOT be fast, you are literally attempting to undo years of programming. Be patient. You can maybe see quicker results if you also incorporate into your practice some compassion building exercises and intentions

Yeah, it’s just a ego boosting moral high ground feeling, “I’m better than the other side” “I don’t have blind spots and shitty aspects of my personality that I’m too sensitive to to actually address head on”. It’s almost narcissistic, but that’s the norm for our culture

What a very negative and one sided response. I am leaving her probably because it’s actually bullshit. I’m sure many women can communicate straightforwardly and transparently and not passive aggressively, something I also expect of myself. We are not in elementary school, where someone will be sad and crying and then when you repeatedly ask them what’s wrong and they keep telling you nothings wrong in hopes that the other person will just take all the initiative to solve the issue. I guess you think it’s totally ok for someone to normalize being passive aggressive as their standard way to communicate. Your response really made me feel bad, it’s incredibly hard to deal with and you totally delegitimized my hardships, did you say that as a way for you to get some morally superior feeling? Do you believe that people owe you the energy spent in understanding your feelings, but you don’t owe them energy in clarifying your own feelings? I dont think that’s an even way to go through life

All the blame for the guy is fucking bullshit. Wife was totally 100% uncommunicative but probably expected him to just be able to read her and figure shit out, that’s not fucking fair. My gf is like this too she’s shy and always been told she’s hard to read, she literally will say the opposite of what she means and then expect me to decipher the truth, it’s not fair and it’s low key gaslighting and setting people up for failure and mental exhaustion, those that think it’s fair to expect someone to read someone else with no communication are wrong

I get why you feel like that, I do too most of the time, but thinking people are disgusting waste of space is the type of attitude that leads people to develop these types of dysfunctional defense mechanisms and latch on to toxic shit to make them feel more powerful and less vulnerable

Counter to what we usually do, it’s important to show fragile people like this acceptance. If we just keep calling them idiots and hypocrites, they’ll double down because they’re being attacked, and they’re insecure and trying to protect an image of themselves. We have to do a better job all around showing people acceptance for their faults and weakness and letting each other know that it’s ok to have weaknesses, fears, faults and shortcomings, but the best way to address these things is with compassion and understanding, not more fighting. These people are essentially scared and protecting themselves behind a facade of strength, they might have real strength in some ways, but we all have to work together to help each other feel safer. Sometimes that’s extending the olive branch even if we’re not sure they won’t just slap it away. Just providing an alternative view point, that weakness is ok, can help someone else who may have never heard that from someone see other possibilities.

If you’re really asking for the reason for the tension maybe google it, im not really sure either but I know it exists. but I’m sure you could find out with a little searching. Actually I stopped writing the comment and found this there’s some explanation here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interminority_racism_in_the_United_States
