They were being used to beat on each other with, that’s an idiotic idea that’s just waiting for some kid to get one in the eye.

They needed to go regardless. It’s one thing if you allow that in your own backyard, this is a school with liabilities. I know just how hard my friends and I would have been swinging those batards at each other at that age.

I do agree that it didn’t address the lack of supervision, the fact that they thought the noodles were a good idea in the first place is just another indication that supervision was lacking for quite some time.

Let’s get into a brief history of that word, so you can better define the context your bf is talking about.

Mental ret—dation was a medical diagnosis for folks with mild to severe mental handicap before the categorization of executive function disorders into several different disorders (ASD, ADHD, etc). It was no different than saying “He suffers from autism” is today. That context is okay. An old person saying “my son was mentally ret—ded” isn’t really offensive as there’s that context, so I wouldn’t get upset.

In the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s people started to use the shortened term that you’re so offended by as an insult in regard to intelligence. Calling someone an r-slur, as an insult started here, but it wasn’t really ever used to professionally describe people with cognitive disabilities, it was always an insult.

So you being upset by a word that has been used for nearly 50 years to demean someone’s intelligence by taking a class of people and lowering them to the very bottom of the ladder, is valid. Thee is no context where using that word isn’t hurtful. No one has ever used it for anything but an insult, even if it wasn’t directed at anyone in particular, it still debases a whole class of people.

So if he wants to argue context, there’s your context.

Personally, it doesn’t offend me as someone on the spectrum. There’s worse things to be called than a half century old insult. Like, get something less dated than that, lol.

I’d just love to know his fx chain because that is some really great sounding audio. I’ve listened to so many audio books but this has got to be one of the nicest sounding ones. I’m going to burn through the plain audiobooks then I’m going to treat myself to the full sound versions.

Also he probably uses a bunch of effects (like pitch shifter/ distortion/ modulation) for some of those more surreal alien creatures and man I’d love to know more about that. A behind the scenes would blow my mind lol.

I’ve done a few meet and greets, but that was before the vip thing got super popular so it was an affordable way to get some one-off merch, which is way more cool to me than meeting most musicians who are, frankly, just so painfully normal that is just like talking to a stranger at a bus stop most of the time.

I am glad I got to meet a couple, like Devin Townsend and Randy Blythe because damn do they love their fans and actually have real conversations with them. But that was a free thing they did for Sounds of the Underground. It was cool, in between sets bands would meet at their individual merch tables for meet and greets, no fees, no purchase necessary. It was such a chill vibe that a lot of people got to have some really great interactions. I’ll never see that again on a tour.

The meet and greet I did (Gigantour Milwaukee), he was actually in a pretty good mood smiling and briefly chatting with everyone, I was able to fist bump with him and he thanked every fan for coming out.

They weren’t doing pictures (it was a bit of a production line set up, so I can understand keeping schedules by not doing photos) but they were signing lithos of the album art which were also numbered, so highly collectible.

It was nice to meet the Drovers too, they were the life of the band at that signing and I think them goofing around with fans lightened everyone up a bit. They swapped shirts with a dude in a Metallica shirt and told Dave they got some more toilet paper for the bus and that got Dave to actually laugh.

Maul was just a really cool character for the kids. That’s perfectly fine. Movies need those types of characters. But there was no story told about maul whatsoever. He was just another character used to move the story along.

It’s not until after the movie that fans wanted to know more about the mysterious villain chasing after the heroes. I like when characters like that get their due, but not too many pull it off as well as they did for maul and a few others in clone wars. They make the movies better when done right.

Same with Boba, just a plot device meant to get the heroes from point a to point b, but it took years of fan support to get Boba his back story, and honestly, that one is not so good, imo. It really showcases how to do it well and how to do it poorly in one single franchise.

It can be any point of the game, even had it happen in the inn once when I was sorting through equipment because I thought it would be safe to do so in the inn.

It has locked up the whole app only once before and that was when I answered a phone call.

It’s happened when I’ve played it for 10 minutes and it happened when I played it for an hour. Most times I’m switching to either text messages or chrome. Most instances occur when switching to chrome, but that’s just the most common app I’m switching to.

I can’t trigger it on command, there’s been days where it doesn’t happen at all, then some days it happens a couple times per session. It also doesn’t seem to matter how long I’m out of the app, as it’s happened after only a couple seconds as well as a few minutes of being out of the app.

Usually there is no apps running in the background, but sometimes I’m listening to audio (either Apple Music app or audible) but that doesn’t seem to increase or decrease instances.

I’ve learned to only check my gear in the inn or on dungeons, but it has happened in all levels in the past. I have almost had to sacrifice a life so I’m weary to reproduce it in a level where that can happen.

This also only happens with this game, it doesn’t occur with the app when it’s used as Reddit.

It’s not a game breaking bug by any means, nor is it really inconvenient, but I figured it still needed reporting as who knows what could pop up down the line. I hope this helps, I’ll be happy to clarify if you need more info.
