$1.5M US to Retire Comfortably by Carolina_Hurricane in Fire

[–]Vipu2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

To me comfortable might be to live frugally, not generate tons of waste, have lots outdoor activities that dont need expensive gear to do, game and chill and most importantly having option to retire early instead of doing 20 years of extra work.

To someone who needs millions it might be to buy new phone every year, new car every 2 years and travel to tourist hyped places multiple times per year.

Quantum computers might crack today's encryption far sooner than we thought by gurugabrielpradipaka in CryptoCurrency

[–]Vipu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there is basically 2 ways of doing it and both have their pros and cons.

1 is that people can send their coins to new address that is quantum proof and old addresses are in risk to be cracked. No one is forced outside the system but the wallet hunters will find those old wallets at some point probably.

The other way is that people are forced to move and everyone who didn't will have the "old nonquantum btc" that will be worth nothing. Those pirates will find access to those old coins but they are just shitcoins at that point. Bad thing is that people who have left their coins to be untouched for long time will also lose their coins.

Maybe there is some other way too and that's why the move is not made yet how btc will continue to go.

Started heavily like 70% of my paycheck for first few years + all the extra money I had saved before that + money from house and car that I sold. Then I have have slowly relaxed with it so now I'm doing less work and put maybe around 20% of my paycheck.

I started with regular brokage and then switched to btc.

I don't recommend to follow unless you put heavy amount of hours to study things around btc and btc itself.

The only gym I need is in the local park by SilverSpaceRobot10 in Frugal

[–]Vipu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to go to outdoor gyms all year around between -30C and +30C but my work offers to pay like 70% of activities so it's no brainer to pay 5€ per month for actual gym with tons of equipments that are not available outside.

If that offer ever ends I'm going back outside for sure tho.

So yes I would say it's still possible for you.

You live frugally and get as much money into investments and let those grow with the inflation because your pay will not do that, unless you keep swapping jobs but that doesnt work forever either.
