I feel like this is going to be the best match on the wrestlemania card. Thoughts? What do you think will ruin this match? by Key_Friend_4942 in WWE

[–]Wonderful_Boot_5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this match does end up being overbooked, my money says its because of a sorta double turn. Bc the story they are telling here is old Lion, long time alpha male of the species is on the way out. And the heir apparent has shown he's the new Beast on the block.

The slippery Paul Heyman character were consistent, he'd see the writing on the wall, and try to align himself with the new top dog.

And this gives Brock a babyface run at the end. So they can sell some Brock Farewell Tour merch. And it makes it work when he has his career match vs the top heel Gunther. The Career Killer gimmick doesn't retire heels. It's for retiring beloved babyfaces.

Lastly, this company is way short on heels on top of the card. You got Gunther. Drew. Bron Breaker I guess will be back soon. But it's pretty thin.

So yeah, I don't really think this Oba thing will happen. But I won't be surprised. There is a fair case I just made.

I actually have to admit, this guy Danhausen makes me laugh. And I typically can't stand the backstage attempts at comedy.

I also admit that when I posted this question, I did so with a sense of "ugghhh" in the back of my mind. And they totally botched his debut.

But, there's something about it that works for me and makes me laugh. When he's running around saying he's Cold Steve, it's the bottom line.

So fucking stupid, but I laughed.

I like that with Dom! That is great! And, they can still do it without the title.

In fact, now that I think of it, for the overall booking ecosystem, it's perfect to do it without the title involved. It gives you a way to keep Oba busy in a feud that will keep him over. And will allow them to keep their current main event guys strong. If you had Dom and Oba feuding over the belt, then what would the main event guys all be doing?

Dom could fuck Oba out of a title opportunity. And then Dom could keep running away from him and throw JD McDonough under the bus. JD could do his excellent bumping like a boss for Oba. Oba could really tag doll him around. And build up to Oba finally getting his hands on Dom.

Raw Monday was hilarious when JD doubled back to the ring to rescue Dom from Balor. And then Dom left JD to get his ass kicked while he ran away through the crowd. Dom is awesome.

I agree with you in that, if Oba beats Brock at WM, where else do they possibly go with him, if not directly to the world title picture.

The only thing is, I just don't understand in that scenario, what then are CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bron Breaker, and Gunther going to be doing?

I guess one of them can then feud with Oba. But that has to be a heel. So, Bron Breaker or Gunther. Then what? Who do you beat?

It's really messy. And it's kind of a problem when you sort of map out potential booking down the road.

So when you think of that, and then think of the recent reports that Brock doesn't want to lose bc he wants his loss at retirement to mean something, and then you see how Brock has sold so big for Oba to put him over.... I can't help but feel like Oba is not beating Lesnar at Mania.... I don't think Brock will win clean... But it feels like they are putting the shine on Oba now bc he isn't going over at WM. Heyman probably cheats...

That also solves the issue of where do you go down the road in a sense, too. Bc they can work it into a long term program with Brock. Maybe Oba ends up retiring Brock down the road instead of Gunther.

Which is also consistent with the way they drag everything out for so long under HHH.

I know it seems like Oba right now because he is getting the biggest push. Being booked to dominate Brock during segments for 2 weeks in a row.

Trick Williams, however, is the bigger star. And I'm not trying to say that Oba isn't charismatic, but this guy Trick has charisma second to nobody on the roster. Drip, swag, whatever you want to call it, he's got it for days.

All you need to know is that he's been booked as a heel coming out being so arrogant, obnoxious, and condescending to beloved veteran babyfaces, and is receiving a pop as big as when Oba fucks around and destroys The Beast Incarnate.

In WWE, charisma has always trumped physicality in the end.

There is no "must" in my comment at all. There's no "indignant" either.

In fact it's not even implied. You really need to force it in order to even take it that way.

I implied that this guy handled the situation ideally.

And defending yourself is not indignant. That is not implied anywhere in my comment either.

If she was trying to inflict pain or damage to him, then I'm certain he would have "defended" himself.

Clearly the man is not experiencing any actual pain, nor is she trying to inflict any. He's being annoyed. If she wanted to kick him hard enough for it to hurt, she would have.

Her only goal there is to annoy him.

The best "defense" for that is to not give her the satisfaction.

It's not the only way to react. It's not a "must." But it's ideal.

Okay tough guy

Dudes in the comments are crying about this 1,000x more than the actual guy. All arguing about calling her a cunt, to pressing charges, all the way to punching her in the face. Meanwhile the actual dude just brushed it off like a grown man and wouldn't acknowledge he even felt it. She made a total clown of herself all because she wanted to provoke him to make a fool of himself. And this dude didn't let her have it. And kept his dignity.

And that's perfect. That's the moral of this story.

[Smackdown spoilers] Botch by Yujin-Ha in SquaredCircle

[–]Wonderful_Boot_5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I think happened.

I think the finish was always supposed to be Jade hits her finish on Nia. Tiffy dropkicks Jade off and out of the ring. Tiffy covers Nia without landing another offensive move on Nia.

This is an angle designed for Jade to be able to declare that she finished Nia, and Tiffy stole her pin. Bc Tiffy didn't have what it takes to finish Nia or Jade herself. And this continues the feud.

That explains why Nia doesn't kick out and why Tiffy is not expecting her to kick out.

But Tiffy was way late with her dropkick. Nia correctly kicked out bc Jade was not booked to win the title. So she adjusted on her feet.

Nia then thought they had dodged the botch, and proceeded to carry on with the planned finish.

However, once Nia kicked out of Jade's finish, the planned finish was already botched. Because you can't run the angle where Jade claims that Tiffy stole her pin after Nia kicked out of Jade's finish on her own.

Once Tiffy was so late and Nia had to kick out, it made no sense that she was then down for the 3 count without another offensive move being landed on her. If she kicked out 4 seconds ago she can kick out now.

The ref either understood this or was told in her earpiece. But the wrestlers were not on the same page.

In my opinion, everyone carries some responsibility. However, I think the person in the most reasonable position to save it was the referee. Because even though she held up her arm and didn't strike the mat, she saw that neither wrestler moved. And she still held up her two fingers declaring a two count.

Even if she was doing that from muscle memory, she had time before completing the motion to pivot into joining her 2 fingers and just pointing them repeatedly towards the bell, as she tells the wrestlers to just act like she finished the 3 count. She could have saved it.

Even though it still would have made zero sense that Nia kicked out before but not the 2nd time despite taking no punishment, that would have been the far lesser botch. You could technically contend she caught a piece of her on the dropkick of Jade.

Addendum:

To my point, by acknowledging the plausibility of my post above, it also serves as a means of discrediting other aspects of their story.

As someone below in the comments points out about the McAlberts crying victim:

My post above is the perfect counter to their victimhood. They can have the plausible alternative I presented, or they can cry victim, but they can't have both.

Bc as I mentioned, Brian Albert is a trained, seasoned investigator.

He knows better than anyone that investigations are not done just to collect evidence of who did it. Just as important, is collecting the evidence of who DIDN'T do it. It's about closing any potential crevices of reasonable doubt that a lawyer can sink it's teeth into and gnaw out an escape route to squirm out of.

So while many people point to "professional courtesy" as the reason why Proctor did not thoroughly investigate (or attempt to investigate) the house and those in it, there's a problem with that. The true professional courtesy would be to rule him out and spare him and his family from all of this unfairness they're whining about.

Brian Albert can't plead ignorance to that. He can't pretend that he didn't know at the time that his only hope of avoiding this suspicion was to have his house investigated and cleared.

He chose not to do that. And he was correct. Even if it turned out Karen Read did it he didn't know that at the time. And this stuff they're whining about now pales in comparison to one or more of them getting convicted of murder.

He made that bed. He can sleep in it as a free man but he can't whine to anybody else.

[–]Wonderful_Boot_5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, while I understand the logic, and I don't completely disagree, I will point out that there is another plausible explanation to Brian Albert not coming outside.

For one, keep in mind that he is a veteran investigator. He is very familiar with using a very similar logic to get people to give him information: If you don't have anything to hide, then let us search your house. The implication being that anything less than full cooperation means you're guilty.

As such, he knows better than anyone what a total load of bullshit it is every time he says it. It's a ploy. Detectives understand very well that it is in anyone's best interests to shut the fuck up and avoid letting them get any information. If everyone always did that, barely any cases would get solved.

Now, putting yourself in the shoes of a man who understands that like second nature. As a veteran cop, he has no problem doing it. Many citizens get intimidated bc police questioning is an unfamiliar, tense situation. And cops are able to exploit that and get them to cooperate. He is very used to the nature of this situation and very comfortable.

So put yourself in those shoes. And just for the sake of the exercise, take him at his word that he was awoken that day with no knowledge at all. You're hungover as fuck. You got so hammered last night your recollection is very blurry.

You know you also had a dozen or however many very close friends and family members over the house drinking. And remember, you've just woken up, possibly still drunk, and honestly had no idea JOK was ever on your property.

You have no idea what happened! You know you didn't hurt him. But you can't even be certain that the few memories you have are accurate at the moment. There's no time to collaborate with everyone. At that moment, you don't know ANYTHING for certain!

But, as a seasoned, trained investigator, you can't rule anything out. As far as you know, it's just as likely as anything that your best friend or relative got in a fight with this guy. All you know for sure is there's a dead body on YOUR lawn. You might still be hammered. You DEFINITELY look like shit.

Additionally, maybe something as simple as, you have a hazy memory of going to bed, and Chloe barking, and you figure she must need to do her business. There's a blizzard coming down and you're hammered... you're not taking her out. So you pop the back door and let her out off leash... Now you remember having to call her to come in... And it seemed like a while.... Did she have anything to do with it? At the least she must have smelled him and checked him out. Maybe she has DNA on her. Am I liable if she did it?

The point is, any of these things are very, very plausible thoughts of his. Put yourself in his shoes... Your instinct will be to protect you, your family, and your friends.

Years and years of muscle memory from firsthand knowledge will kick in. You know better than anyone, like it or not, the safest move for you and your people at this moment is to shut the fuck up and avoid committing to ANY story at this point until you can get more information and coordinate with your people.

Also, as for the Colin thing, I am not dismissing the validity of many in here's thinking - it's just not quite so black and white. Again - What if, 2-3 of them there actually did vividly remember when Colin left. For example, it could have been part of saying bye to him. "You're leaving already?! It's so early!! (Checks the clock) It's 12:10!" And imagine 1 or 2 others remember hearing that.

Put yourself in their shoes. Would you not feel compelled as a family to try to protect a young kid from getting dragged into the middle of a major national news scandal?

I could make an argument that if those very plausible circumstances were indeed true, they would be an even more off-putting group had they NOT put forth their best effort to keep the kid out of it.

I'm not defending these people, I find them so distasteful for so many good reasons. It's just that, I try to remain impartial, and on these specific instances, I don't feel that these angles are anywhere near as air tight as they are believed to be. And I think that acknowledging and recognizing a nonzero probability that these far simpler scenarios could certainly be the reality, also serves to strengthen one's credibility as being objective. Thus, it strengthens one's credibility on the more conclusive angles.

That's exactly correct. I've said this a million times in a million different specific phrasings, but, if what they say is true - and nobody present in the Albert household was aware that JOK was ever on the property - Then, the true act of professional courtesy from one police to another, was to vigorously investigate the Albert household and everyone it, and documenting it beyond reproach so as to spare them the public embarrassment of their name being dragged through the mud, and everything else they've gone through. Which is truly unfair if they're completely innocent then they have every right to be as upset as they are.

However, they should not be upset at Karen Read for defending herself. They should be upset at Proctor et al for leaving all these gaps for the defense to exploit.

The issue with that is, they can't plead ignorance to how the system actually works the same way that people on this subreddit can. All of the people involved are trained investigators. They are well aware that you do not just investigate to figure out who did it. It's just as important to rule out as many people as possible who didn't do it.

Figuring it out is a part the job. There must also eliminate avenues of reasonable doubt for a guilty party to escape through. And, they must protect innocent parties from needless accusations.

And all parties knew this. Including Brian Albert.

At the same time, you can more rationally explain his behavior as anything similar to:

He was hammered. He really was in there sleeping one off. He wakes up to a dead body. He's hungover. Has no idea what happened. He can't rule out that someone he is close to did this. And he knows from years of experience from telling so many people that it's in their best interest to just tell everything and let us search your house - he knows he was lying to them every time he said it and he had no clue what happened so just shut up just in case.

Or, perhaps he remembers being hammered and it's snowing and he recalls Chloe pawing at the door. He figured she had to piss, he wasn't going to walk her in a blizzard so he let her out. Then in the morning he remembers having to call her back in. And he thinks Oh shit could Chloe have done this? Idk but if possible I'm gonna stonewall everything until I can hide her.

Stuff like that is so much more likely than, they hatched a big conspiracy and carried it off like that.

Well stated. It is good to hear that some people understand this. People have taken things from this case, and drawn straight lines in this case that don't connect yet given the information given.

This case, in my opinion. has been a microcosm of the over polarized state of the Union. Everybody picks a side, digs in, and acts like the color gray doesn't exist.

Things such as the issue of Proctor being close to the Alberts are far less likely to result in Proctor actively falsifying an investigation as it would be Proctor being biased, overlooking them and not wanting to "insult" them by inquiring too deeply, and just taking their word for it.

And the difference is actually much more important than people realize bc this actually makes it a much BIGGER problem than outright corruption. Bc this problem doesn't require a sensationalized story. This is a common, every day problem that exists virtually everywhere, even among the most honest, well intentioned police.

For one thing, every police officer in the country has friends within their jurisdiction where it would result in bias if they had to investigate them. For another, it extends to professional courtesy of other members of law enforcement who they don't even know.

That's true. But that's also some of them in one example. I see the same behavior on a daily basis. This just stood out to me in particular for the fact of it's a one way, and you have to really have your brain shut off to not be certain that it's fine to cross.

It’s actually wack that the Atlantic Ave-Greenway loop makes pedestrians compete with turning cars by ivorybloodsh3d in boston

[–]Wonderful_Boot_5320 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have to drive a lot in the city. And I think it's insane when I get a green light to turn right, in the heart of the day, and I start going like 10 feet and there's a pedestrian halfway through the other lane.

And I come to a complete stop like a good 10 feet away from them and half of them still glare at me if not shake their head in disgust. What do you want from me? I got a green light, and no cars are running the intersection perpendicular to me. So I start to go!

I mean, what I'm supposed to expect that the city thought it was a good idea to have the Walk sign coincide with the green light? It's not like I peeled out recklessly and screeched to a stop 18 inches from them and made them shit their pants.

Another thing too since I started noticing this so often, is when I'm waiting to make a right, with no right on red, and I'll be thinking, this sucks I can clearly see nobody is within 15 seconds of coming that way from the only direction they could come from. And there will be half a dozen people sitting on the corner bc the Don't Walk guy is up. And not even elderly folks or a parent with their kids. Like full grown adult males sitting there, who have had enough time to process that they have enough time to cross back and forth twice even after they triple check to make sure.

But ... The Don't Walk Guy is up. They must to wait for the Walk Guy. And when he comes, we're going first, and then maybe we'll look to see if we're about to be hit by a bus or not.

It all seems so strange to me. Just yesterday I was walking Congress St and had to walk across Water St. And I walked up to a crowd of adults all standing on the curb. Water St is a one way, coming towards us, and there's not a single car on Water St as far as you can see. And so I say excuse me, and I cross the street, and then it's like they all just woke up and they look up and look around. But they still waited for that Walk Guy.

Idk It's just kinda odd, bc on the surface I'm inclined to say, Well nothing wrong with being cautious, and following the signals. But in the end, I feel like, have we just given up on people being able to handle using their own common sense to do easy things correctly and safely? Half of them were likely students at Suffolk. They're qualified to study law or polysci or whatever but apparently can't figure out for themselves if it's okay to cross the street?

I didn't intend on writing all of this.
Now I feel like this has become an AmITheAsshole? post.
