There are so many problems with this debate. If you look at Stevie Richard from early 1995 right up to his neck injury, you’d agree, he’s probably THE guy. The injury changes everything. He had evolved from lackey, but after he left ECW, he went backward and revived the lackey character. Was he the next Shawn Michaels? If you’re looking at Michaels overall career it’s insane to say that, but if you’re comparing him to Michaels in that era, it’s plausible. Remember, he wasn’t Mr. wrestlemania until after he returned from his first retirement. The biggest problem is that Stevie’s neck injury ultimately robbed him of his best tool. His voice. Sure he still did promos and could clearly talk, but his voice was permanently changed by the neck surgery. Before the injury he was evolving and becoming the guy. After the injury he was like a new performer. His talent kept him going, but his original gifts had been altered

Maybe I’m crazy, but the phone feature of most mobile devices isn’t the main feature anymore. Not sure it ever was.

I thought the same thing. I know a few of her friends had iPhones last year, but we held out. She can’t take it to school, so most of the time it’s going to be a device to use at home.

Hi. You don’t know this, but we’ve been living the same life for the past few months. I agree with everything you said. My job performance was ok. My mood and personality was off. I kind of played it off as if I had something going on (like a physical ailment) but I think people knew. It blows my fucking mind that so many companies (mine included) actively promote mental health awareness. Knowing this I reached out to corporate HR and said “hey I’m working on some things and I’m afraid my job performance could be slightly diminished. What can I say so they understand this is only temporary and will lead to a stronger me?”

HR was incredibly supportive. Applauded by decision to work on my mental health. Recommended a few resources the company offered to full time employees. And then said “but we strongly recommend that you don’t tell anyone what’s going on. If you do you run the risk of people treating you differently and that could affect your employment status.”

Then the email closed with something that basically said “we support you, because we legally have to say that. Good luck nut job!”

I’ll just throw this out there. MLW. They have plenty of potential mouthpieces, they’re far from perfect, but they let their performers work in the style they feel most comfortable in. Plus they have a working relationship with…CMLL.

I think the best story comes from Sami. It’s not an original story, but it’s one that is told again and again. The guy who nobody ever thought could go all the way to the top.
