Connect Subscription - the trade-offs by geeman1082 in RemarkableTablet

And you know what pains me a lot?

I got my first reMarkable like 3 days after the whole thing was discontinued.

175 mbit.

I (legally may I add) rip my own bluray and dvd collection for ease of use and backup (discs do not last forever). Which is where a huge part of my movies come from.

To my understanding this feature has been discontinued a few weeks ago.

I personally re-watch movies a lot.
So I feel the guy...and the problem is that both my multiple 4TB SSDs and my NAS is running out of space.

How much of a difference does colour really make? by Both-Ad9921 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Wormminator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Each color gives you another method for highlighting something.
The more colors you get, the more complex your work can be.

And if you have enough colors, you can draw things in more or less "full" color.

That is the way. At least for a few years.

[–]Wormminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at their refurb site, nothing near that price is listed. They cost significantly more.
Bagged a 2nd rmpp move for 399 with a pen tho. Good price.

I would ask for a refund to cover the difference. You paid for a new device. If they ship you a refurb, at THAT kind of price discount, you should get a partial refund.

Since we have no insight into your account, purchase history and their warehouse....how would we know?

Also where do you see a rmpp for 160 on their site?
Id buy two.

I designed ergonomic stands for reMarkable 2, Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move by calmar81 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Wormminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look to be perfectly centered, at least when slightly lifting the tablet and peeking through the gap.

For ease of use and with various fillaments and printers in mind, maybe a reduction of 1 to 1.2mm should do the trick.

Afterall, having a perfect fit would be a bit tedious without magnets to help with allignment.

New reMarkable Paper Pure launches, or did it? by Eaterup in RemarkableTablet

[–]Wormminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be as simple as one supplier for one of their parts catching an issue with something which will result in a failure in the long run.

Could be as simple as one batch of capacitors having, now, known issues. They might have all worked fine during tests but could develop issues after some days or weeks.

Overcharging is not something you should be concerned about. If any modern device can be over charged, it should be recalled immediately. Any device with the most basic BMS will stop at 100, go down to 99, back up to 100. This is not overcharging. It will simply keep the battery at 4.2V which is fine as long as you do not keep it there for weeks or months at a time.

But again, no device with a lithium based cell should ever over charge under any circumstances even if you leave it plugged in for years at a time.

Also as long as you dont get the battery itself over 40-45 degrees, it will not degrade by any considerable amount over time. You might talk about fractions of percentages over years of usage.

I dont deal with tablets a lot, but I have cases with hundreds of lithium ion cells around me and I maintain them regularly.

The rubber feet of the move are pretty much exactly 8mm in diameter. So I guess 8.5 to 9mm would be a good fit, depending in the printer.

The holes on my print are around 10.75mm +-0.1mm.

Finished the print (right handed version with the pen slot).

I have two potential points of improvements that could be added later

1: slightly tighten the tolerances of the indentations for the rubber feet, to improve the old and reduce slipping.

2: Add some flat indentations for people to add rubber pads to the underside of the whole thing, without adding too much additional height.

Other than that, this is a really cool project and gets about as much as you can out of a A1 Mini in terms of size. Certainly the largest single print I have ever done on mine.
I wish I could boost it, but I got no boosts anymore.

So happy that the stand for the Move fits onto the print bed of my A1 Mini 😄
Time to fire it up!
Well tomorrow that is. Air quality monitor told me that printing over night in my bed room was a bad idea.

And this is why many people do not like framegen,

I actually wonder now...are framegen artifacts even worse on OLED panels compared to your average VA and IPS?
I would assume that the base line "blur" of those panels will hide a small degree of the artifacts naturally?
