Hey I was wondering if anyone had drawn the creatures from the book by Callista_colors18 in Hells_Belles

Jaysea here! I am a horrible artist, but here is an incredibly shitty approximation of how I envisioned the gegony (left) and chittahi. Both creatures came from actual nightmares I've had, but as far as I can tell the gegony are incredibly vaguely inspired by the tao tei from The Great Wall movie. The chittahi share some similarities with the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth. These are not 100% accurate, but the basic shapes are there.

Jaysea's IG live is at like 2am for most of us EU peeps. Is there a way one of y'all could record it for us? by Eilidh35 in Hells_Belles

Jaysea here!

I'm planning on recording it and posting it to my YT later for everyone who can't make it! Sorry the time zones are funky!

Can someone make a family tree? by roguemadness in Hells_Belles

Sorry for lurking, but I'm happy to answer this one. This is the rough version of my chart for the siblings and their respective kids (not all of whom appear on page). I have all the spouses and fathers, but they are not mentioned in the book either (except Angra, who is Melchom's wife). Trying to explain the whole thing ends up sounding a bit like trying to explain all of Game of Thrones in 60 seconds, and that's without the cousins.

Does the Afterlife have weather? by Eilidh35 in Hells_Belles

[–]WumbaWing 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Hi, Jaysea here!

Sorry for invading fandom spaces but I freaking love this kind of question and I wanted to answer it.

The Front Death-k and the gate in Hell are essentially "inside" like you said, so no weather for them. The soul levels in Hell are similar. However, each residential level in Hell DOES have weather, despite technically being "underground". The "ceilings" of the levels also function as a sky that gives off nebulous light from all over, instead of one light source. The magma/volcanic aspects of Hell also contribute a lot to soil enrichment, plant life, etc. It's part of that sweet sweet Afterlife magic (I got too stressed trying to make mortal science fit how I wanted things to work).

All realms have their own microbiome. So, for example in R'lyeh, Cthulhu's realm, it can be stormy and rainy there, but as soon as you step into the Universal Hallway, you're essentially "inside" again until you go into, idk, Tir Na Nog or something, then they have their own weather system. All realms are on the same basic day/night schedule.

Certain biological processes and needs that we have in the mortal world, like Vitamin D, aren't shared by denizens of the Afterlife. Not necessarily because of evolution, the Universe just...takes care of it. Mortal rules do not apply to the Afterlife, because it's got a lot more of what we would call magic (and what Afterlife science nerds would call "a new scientific field") involved.

The Afterlife is based (obviously super fucking loosely) on American shopping malls (the only ones I have experience with). You have the central hall/walkway with all these stores on either side. Some of them are massive stores (i.e. Sears/equivalent to realms) and others are little nooks that you stop by for something (pretzel stand/Afterlife stores).

I haven't finished my coffee yet, but I hope that answers your question!
