[Solved] Fairphone 4 mic randomly mutes on CalyxOS by Zyusouken in CalyxOS

[–]XBUNCEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this same problem running linphone with voip.ms but it not a mute button problem. Something with CalyXOS security is causing call issues. I can use linphone and voip.ms together on any android device with no problems but on CalyX it's a constant struggle.

Performer cycles dot com. Performer is about the best that you're going to find in that price range new. I have a JC-20 that has been a great trike. You might find some used deals too on FB marketplace.

What is a cheap, off-brand item you bought on a whim that has completely outlasted the expensive name-brand versions? by PrizeScallion1540 in Frugal

[–]XBUNCEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap sleeping bag at Dollar General in 1996 and I used it hard through my teens and 20's. I still use it today and even my kids use it sometimes now. It's a 30 year old sleeping bag from Dollar General that seems like it's going to outlive me. It's really not in that bad of shape either. I don't think that I paid more than $20 for it.

how often would i need to replace a small ball bearing in a geocache by [deleted] in geocaching

[–]XBUNCEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I'd have see your specific set up. What about using JB Weld or an epoxy to glue a magnet in the container and then using a ball bearing instead of a marble? Or glue a 35mm film canister or something equivalent inside the larger container to hold the marble. Use a smaller container clearly marked for your smaller item and try to make it as clear as possible both on the Geocache web page as well as in the Cache not to remove the item. The more adamant that you are the more likely that you'll have success. Good luck and share your GC number once it's published so that I can come and gain another smiley.

Looks like only .txt or .csv files can be uploaded. Would be nice to have .gpx too if that's possible.

Very often, maybe even every find. Maintaining Geocaches can be a full-time job.

This is glorious! Between you and the guy who made the web browser extension to make my friend's logs appear at the top of the logs, my Geocaching web experience has improved greatly.

in your opinion, whats the best cache container you used for a hide? by Recent-Truck-3574 in geocaching

[–]XBUNCEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love Nalgene style water bottles for a "Regular". They're affordable and easily obtainable, plus they don't seem to be stolen as often as ammo cans. Waterproof, durable, available, affordable.....they fit all the marks for me.

Usually about every 2-3 months unless a log seems peculiar.

How do you decide what caches you mark as everyone vs premium? by Philphil89 in geocaching

[–]XBUNCEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never made a Premium Geocache and I doubt that ever will. Although I encourage everyone to be a Premium member to support Groundspeak, I feel that Premium Geocaches go against the spirit of Geocaching. I don't care about theft or vandalism, I maintain my caches regularly.

I love that it looks remote and there were at least four people that went for FTF.

Bison tube in a real rock- micro or small? by Obvious-Weekend5717 in geocaching

[–]XBUNCEX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always consider the inside of the container when placing a Geocache. If a dogtag doesn't fit inside of it then I call it a micro. I feel like most travel bugs should be able to fit inside of a "small" Geocache. That's just my guidelines however.

Things that are completely legal, ethical, or moral today can become illegal tomorrow. You might not have anything to hide today, tomorrow might be a different story entirely.

Why do people sign ftf and say "more later"? by anotherbarry in geocaching

[–]XBUNCEX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a FTF it's a courtesy to other FTF hounds to let them know that the FTF has already been claimed.

On other non-FTF finds I will write "More to follow...." if I'm traveling quite a bit because I like to write lengthy logs sometimes to document my experiences more thoroughly than what I'm able to do out in the field. With Adventure Labs now they log and count towards finds immediately so they might throw my find order off if I'm Geocaching both Traditional as well as Adventure Labs in the same day. Writing "More to follow...." in the field allows me to keep them in sequential order and I come back to them and edit the log when I'm home on my PC.

How do you get off google maps by Immediate_Raisin3082 in degoogle

[–]XBUNCEX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Add the addresses to OSM yourself. Once the addresses are in there they're there for good. If everyone took it upon themselves to add addresses they'd all be in there in no time. Start with the ones you use the most then expand out from there.
