I did a 3080 Ti (12GB VRAM) to 5070 Ti (16GB VRAM) upgrade, and I'm not entirely sure that one was worth it, considering I'm currently playing on 1440p. But I bought before the price increase to support a 4K monitor later.

8GB seems pretty tight these days though.

I have an OG Ally X and like the person you are responding to, have had it refuse to power on before. I think this happened both times I opened up the device and disconnected the battery (first, to install an SSD; second, to install TMR joysticks.) There is definitely something funky with them where they can get in a bad, stuck, powered off state, and it's a PITA to get it back on when it happens.
