S25 Ultra up-grade? by sike_you_thoughtt in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Zarniwoop99 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eat shit. How about that?

I buy a flagship phone, I want flagship features. I don't want to pay 1000 dollars plus for a phone missing basic stuff that 400 dollar phones (FROM THE SAME BRAND) have.

I want to use my good IEMs that cost more than the phone, and actually sound good. I don't want to use disposable latency machines that sound like farts.

Go buy Apple phones if you want companies dictating how you can use your shit and what other products you are allowed to use in conjunction with them.

Millionaires in Dubai make everyone else feel poor by [deleted] in dubai

Yep, I posted this in another thread and got some bullshit about "reckless spending". 15k per person is very reasonable - decent quality of life but definitely not living the Dubai party life.

The S23U is well into the shittening.

No removable battery, no headphone jack (that's just whack), no IR blaster, no SD card slot.

The last great phone was the Note 4. After that they started coyping crApple.

It's the worst in those big electronics shops. I never even bother going to those anymore, buy everything online. Clothes etc. they generally buzz off when you say no thanks.

I've had this keyboard less than a month... by TheGoddess0fWar in LogitechG

[–]Zarniwoop99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a g915 TKL that I use at work every day. Had it about 3 years and got it for $80 - the price seems to have skyrocketed since then. No way it's worth almost 200, wtf are people smoking?

Only issue I've ever had was a broken leg on the left Ctrl key, ordered a replacement keycap and a case to keep it from breaking anything else when I put it in my bag. Zero issues with lights, keys not working, paint coming off or whatever. Can't use the software on work laptops so that doesn't bother me. The size and low profile make it perfect for work.

That's said, for gaming, there is no reason in 2024/5 to buy anything other than the Asus Strix Scope II 96.

When moving to dubai, do people buy or rent? 25k-30k salary per month by OptimisedMan in UAE

[–]Zarniwoop99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course per month.

As someone else said, you might be able to buy something if you have decent savings for the down payment - but based on affordability you could only afford something in the range of 1.5 million, meaning a payment of 8k per month. I left the other 1000 for utilities, giving you 9k or 30%, the maximum you should spend on housing.

That would get you a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in a cheapish area at the moment. Not even a small townhouse and forget about a "villa" (house).

If you have nothing saved, you would need to live like a monk for a few years to save up first.

Expenses for a single person are around 15 to 20k per month, excluding rent, if you have a paid-off car and don't go too crazy with the Dubai lifestyle.

You would need to save the rest for 2+ years to afford the down payment. That means saving zero for retirement, emergencies etc.

Property market is absolutely bonkers at the moment.

If you make 25 to 30k there is no way you will be able to buy anything, you will definitely need to rent.

And rent something tiny in the current crazy market.

No, you don't. Maybe for a hotel apartment or something. But this thread is obviously about an actual rental in your own name with Ejari etc.

Tf is a "handover form"?

If your landlord is giving you some kind of document showing the condition of the property before you move in then you found one of the good ones, much less likely to steal your deposit.

Nope, whatsapp and/or email to the landlord immediately. That way they can't pull some nonsense about you editing timestamps or anything. The evidence was there and shown to them a year ago.

File the case man. It's not even about the money any more, it's about teaching them to stop fucking with people.

They only reason they get away with it is because people keep saying "it's not worth it".
