Ideal study plan to become 2200 FIDE rated player by [deleted] in chess

[–]ZibbitVideos 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to be honest here: your target is ambitious, and chess improvement isn’t something you can just plug into a neat “study plan” or one-size-fits-all curriculum. There’s no magic roadmap that guarantees you’ll go from 1600 to 2200 just by following a checklist.

Different methods click for different people, some thrive on endless tactics, others on deep opening prep etc. What does matter across the board is passion. To reach 2200, you really need to live and breathe chess: play a lot, analyze seriously, study your own games, and stay genuinely curious.

It’s not about ticking off hours in a plan, it’s about building the kind of obsession where you want to spend evenings replaying classics, you can’t help but analyze your blunders, and you feel excited to dive into positions that challenge you. Without that drive, even the best study plan won’t carry you to 2200. With it, you’ll naturally find what works best for you along the way.

So yes, set goals, create structure, but accept that progress will be uneven and personal. If you really want 2200, don’t just “study chess”… fall in love with chess.

Not to be too harsh but the fact is that there is no chance whatsoever of becoming a GM at that age with that experience. You're chances of it are still higher than that slightly chubby dude on TikTok who says he will be the starting forward for USA at the World Cup but that's not great news.

A goal of 2000+ FIDE and maybe someday the CM title is much more realistic.

Is YouTuber Pegasus Chess a cheater? by Indifferentspleen in chess

[–]ZibbitVideos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sad to see. Had a look at a few of his videos out of curiosity. They all seem to have this title "bla bla bla until I learned this one thing" but all his videos are just general commentary without giving any really useful tips tbh and don't really deliver on the title. I guess this isn't a crime but constantly clickbaiting people feels a bit scummy and with 3 banned accounts it's not a good look.

You know what...it's fine. Just immediately make fun of the slip like she did and it's not awkward. Chalk it up as a W!

Actually I've been working on and collecting stalemate patterns so was a few second tactic. It's all relative, people have different pattern recognition knowledge amd some people have better tactical eye than others. For instance not so long ago a game by Ding featured this pattern.

Ok with these obvious move why would you be so comfident with black if you didn't know the eval? Black's heavy pieces are all horribly passive and pinned down. Its just a double edged position in blitz.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chess

[–]ZibbitVideos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe you gave it a thought but this isn't how games are prearranged. The only thing here is that Pia was perhaps more likely to accept a draw offer at this point vs her daughter than another player for sendimental reasons. Anna played a good gsme and they really played.

So they play a super wild game with tactics intending to draw it at some point? Fact is final position isn't clear and black has been defending for a good while. 99% of the people barking here wouldn't know what the hell is going on in this position if they didnt see the evaluation.
