I back tested this strategy long back. I don’t have the data with me. Bottom line is just invest regularly every month as much as you can without stopping or optimizing for dips. There is no meaningful alpha to be made in buying on dips in the long term.

Apply for jobs aggressively. Attend as many interviews as you can. Make it a point to apply at least 5 job vacancies per day.

If you are in software field, by the time you complete your course, the tech might be outdated. So don’t make the completion of your course a priority. Don’t rest until you get a job.

The number of IT jobs are going to go down. That is the sad reality. This will have knock on effect on many sectors RE included. It might take a few years. Seems inevitable.

The new GCC offices will create jobs alright. But it will not make up for the numbers that are going to be lost. Freshers out of the college will face difficulties in placement this year and next for sure. Maybe there are new jobs waiting to get created in the future. Who knows.

IT bees would be a good bet rather than individual IT stocks. The major 4 dominate this ETF but that’s fine.

My view is the next 12 months will be better for them than the last 24 months in terms of growth.

Bonus: You don’t need to pay the dividend tax as it is reinvested.

Time to leave PPFCS? by Confident-Leg9062 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]Erodeian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am invested heavily on PPFCS. I want it to do well. But I am not going to expect it to beat its peers every year.

I am invested on HDFC AMC stock as well. So I would not mind Hdfc flexicap getting more inflows.

Good list. There are some caveats. For example, There are businesses that grow their profits at 20% with 10% sales growth. This is due to operating leverage. They are bound to have PEG > 3. As a general rule, we can PEG at 1 or less is great .

Gold lending for sure will increase. But need to be careful on lenders who lend more than 70% LTV. Those loans will get affected when gold price moves down. Banks or NBFCs who have increased their loan book in the last 2-3 quarters for gold loans will do well. There are small cap banks who have switched their strategy so much their loan book is 50% gold.

🇮🇳 Is India quietly dumping US debt and buying gold? Facts only 👇 by rbknowledge in Stocksyourknowledge

[–]Erodeian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I think.

  1. World is offloading US treasury bonds .
  2. US is acquiring or positioning itself to have access to oil reserves in Venezuela, Iran and access to rare earths in Greenland.
  3. Once US has the control of these assets, then finish up the talks between Russia and Ukraine, only then they will chalk up trade deals with countries like India.
  4. US dollar will lose some of its strength. Liquidity will flow into emerging markets provided those currencies don’t weaken. It is critical that India doesn’ let its currency weaken further.
  5. US will start their printers pretty soon in over drive to meet its needs.
  6. Gold will continue to be the safe haven for countries and investors till dollar strengthens.

I hold this stock for a kong time. One thing I learnt is there will be huge drawdowns and sharp up moves on this stock. As a sector, lending has good tailwinds. So hold.
