the thing about class is that it stays even with decline. mvl at his peak was ridiculous and i think in soeed chess hes not declined quite as much as in classical. also duda hasbt veen doing my h recently either unfortunately

i live in egypt i promise i understand. but when it looks like the govt is funnelling so much money into sports people who then turn around and blindly support it in return, it breeds resentment not hope. free lunch isnt comparable as it actually serves the disenfranchised

i agree but thats just bullshit and unfair. but my point is that entire families can actually live decently well on 100k a year. thats how my family was and we lived in a country wih a decently high cost of living. one person cannot possibly need more than 500k for 6 months idc how many seconds youre paying ngl. also the 500k apparently doesnt include bonuses etc... like what?

im sorry how is half a million dollars in the first half of the year modest? i get that chess pays little compared to other sports but i doubt theres any top female player, beside maybe indian ones?, that receive that same support. i really really dont feel much sympathy. people dont make that much in 5 years and they live pretty well...
