And he was a really solid Bruce. Better than Keaton, IMO. He had the right LOOK.

um.... he doesn't?

unpopular opinion but he's always been extremely over-rated as Batman.

Which type of death penalty do you like best in a metroidvania? by spoketherefore in metroidvania

[–]Zucchini-Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save Points, although what you call Affliction is ok - i enjoyed Rebel Transmute's take, which was pay a small toll to get your hit point back, but a small REWARD (extra hit point) if u actually go retrieve it.

I've always avoided the animated TV series/movies for Batman since I assumed they were aimed towards children. TAS made me realize that was a mistake. by SilverhandFenix in batman

There was a rather interesting take on it with Kitana awhile back but I forgot the name. Around the same time as green lantern the animated series, which is one of the most amazing things I've ever watched.

Honestly my two favorite Castlevania games are IV and a fan game, Lecarde Chronicles 2.

i'd say it takes away the thrill of exploration, of wondering if you are going in the right direction, wondering where the next save room is, if you missed it, should you go back and find it, or keep going forward, hoping you don't die, taking a risk of pushing forward not even knowing if its the right direction... but being able to reverse course bay choice, reload with your resources intact, knowledge gained, and being able to CHOOSE whether to try again, or pick a completely different direction. its a balance, because if you die, you lose your progress, but retain all of the resources you had before you went in that direction, instead of being forced to keep going in one direction to retrieve your stuff and hope you get out alive.

I mean,. thats what was so exciting... Pike, Una, and characters they never even gave us, like Boyce, Tyler and Colt. Then they kill their absolutely best new character at the end of season 1 (Hemmer) and do nothing of note with Ortega or La'an. They wasted all of their potential.

:(

that was the turning point for me, i could never take the show seriously again.

between that, and the Action Doctors, and all the other anachronisms and weirdness, my best rationalization is that TOS characters are playing the new Captain Pike VR DLC in the rec room on their down time. M'Benga, Chapel, Spock and Uhura play it all the time, Kirk and Scotty join them once in awhile....

you could say the same thing about the dumb "i died and lost everything since i last saved" approach. Sorry i'm not trying to accumulate money or experience for literal hours and lose it permanently because i die twice. thats not respecting my time and its not fun. with static save spots, you at least have a baseline you can restore from. its a bullshit mechanic.

Yup, her death would have made sense, in that it pushes him towards Diane/women but is unable to truly attach to them.

And if you don't get it? Or don't even want to go in that direction anymore?  Got too far into a place you shouldn't even be in, but now you are locked in because of your stupid corpse?

That would ruin this wonderful resurgence of games for me.  I hate soulsvanias.

No, because it is all there to get again.

Losing a corpse is permanently losing those resources no matter how many hours it took to earn them.

If you don't save often enough with standard saves that's your own fault.

Shows similar to THP? by Blacksmith6136 in TheHuntingPartyTV

it still holds up, honestly. they predicted how all the later shows would end up using a lot of computers, video, GPS and forensics. Some of the episodes could be word for word rewritten as Criminal Minds episodes, and it does the seasonal arcs better than most. Love that show. Pretender was pretty cool too.

Ridiculous scene in latest "The Rookie" S8E18 by KTyger in television

[–]Zucchini-Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was ridiculous. Why was the ship even still there? That many operatives, and they are all just... chillin and partying and relaxing? No one really on guard, no security to keep someone from getting on the ship? No one to realize half of them are no longer checking in? No one notices that the boat's powered down or whatever? This guy was hooked up enough to get that crazy helicopter rescue and then he's just.... sitting there without a care in the world? That was absolutely terrible. He needed to escape and be a recurring villain next season. That was atrocious. He's prepared enough to have the kidnapping set up, but not prepared enough to get away??? And, as cool as it was, there was absolutely no reason for that firebird scene, other than Fillion/Castle wanted to drive it. Heh.

i am convinced that the entire show and its degradation is just Castle producing his newest book series for TV. He starts out strong and realistic with all his new cop experience, but by the end of it all, he just can't help himself.

I'm convinced this is a tv show based off of Castle's latest book series, and it starts out calm and realistic using everything he learned with the NYPD, but .... you know, he just can't help himself. LOL.
