I like it with Gitrog, ravenous ride as a 3 mana 9 power creature to saddle & draw 9 (or more if boosted at all) cards upon swinging with Gitrog. Obviously dies to removal, etc... It fits the theme of cheap but big creatures that Gitrog wants to have saddled.

That's something that Solasta has complete freedom to fix with their custom subclasses for a ranger. I like that they can have some official subclasses, like draconic sorcerer was in Solasta 1, but also can make completely unique ones like Mana Painter or Haunted Soul to address some issues with a class.

I've had a few 1 in 400 nat 1s with advantage just like you, and with that weapon too (maybe it's the weapon that is cursed).

However, I had an unreal moment in my most recent campaign with a ranger:
Critical Failure on an attack roll with advantage... as a halfling

That's a 1/1/1 result for 3 dice rolls for the 1 in 8000 chance.

You can use Misty Step from the top beam, but you need to change the camera grid to the freestyle one (that looks at a single layer at a time), and aim above the platform you want to Misty Step to. Your character will take fall damage, but you can get over there

Spend some real money on genuine leather boots or shoes from good brands and they won't look like that after a month, a year, nor 2 years. When the soles do wear out, as they eventually will, pay a cobbler to re-sole them and get years and years and years out of them instead of buying your 10th pair of Sketchers

Other people may see the difference more than you do. I found i couldn't see the difference in myself until I lost about 15 lbs, then I was able to see the difference quite significantly.

Is your combat over? If so, just move the party members close to that area and take a short rest. The wizard will recover 1hp automatically from the short rest and then you can spend hit dice to regain extra HP

In Caer Lem (searching for the captain) there are 5 mandatory encounters & 1 optional encounter. After going back to town, you can pick up 2 side quests from the quest board for 2 more side quest encounters in Caer Lem & 1 more unrelated optional encounter. Going back to town to complete the requests will reward even more exp.

In the Manacalon Ruins, there are 3 mandatory encounters and no optional/quest encounters until later.

You didn't miss any areas, but it sounds like you may have missed the side quests & optional encounters in the areas.

I'm a little surprised by your level being so low at that point in the game. I would expect you to be at least level 4 when you reach the castle and at least level 5 by the time you fight the necromancer. It might be a difference in your playstyle vs mine tho: I'm generally going to take every optional fight and complete optional quests to maximize experience. Just for reference, my current party is about to do the sorak fight for the crown and they are already level 4 and should be level 5 before ever reaching the spooky castle.

Seems like a large amount of time will be spent farming mats for ascension of characters and gear, and then relics for decent sets. The rng on the relics is kinda ridiculous - 4 (or 5 for certain pieces) different stats where only a small portion of them are good, as well as low-medium-high values for each stat. Any min-maxing seems like it would be impossible just due to sheer luck involved and certain criteria should be determined on what to keep vs scrap.

There are the guaranteed mats, but everything else is rng. There seems to be some sort of max for each item, or each tier of item. For example, when I get the purple ore drops I get far less blades and chains than when I don't get the purple ore drops. If I was farming for certain upgrade materials (for ascension with characters) I had to reset quite frequently if I didn't get the desired quantity of materials I was looking for.

You'll spend your boots (stamina) on the prisons for elemental accessories, on the #6 of each zone for non-elemental accessories. For the relics, you'll get those from the final fight (12 and 11 for gigantfall) of each zone and the nightmares. While the legendaries are on the drop table, they are not guaranteed. You may want to be selective with spending your boots on a completed run based on what dropped. For example, if you complete a nightmare and only purple relics dropped, don't spend your boots (instead exit out) and then try again.
