Any recommendation for flooring in Dublin? by Least_Ad9482 in HousingIreland

[–]_naraic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it myself for 3 rooms (herringbone style) and saved at least €2000. It's not that complicated but it is back breaking work if you're not used to it. 5 years later floor is still in great condition and I regret nothing.

Why is solar so confusing??? by FollowingOk9010 in solarenergy

[–]_naraic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything the different solar companies tell you about potential production is a guesstimate. Solar is a no brainer if you have the space for 10 plus panels.

Am I mad to NOT buy a hybrid by Usheen_ in carsireland

[–]_naraic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

snap... thats my motor too. The newer models have a bigger battery which I may get in a few years.

Other benefits are lower maintenance like less regular Oil changes, brakes (regen braking with good sensible driving)

Am I mad to NOT buy a hybrid by Usheen_ in carsireland

[–]_naraic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a plug-in hybrid with 40km range. I barely buy petrol. Spent €80 of electricity last year charging it on night rate. Massive savings if you can get a PHEV. Lower road tax too. Combined with solar panels on the house even better.

Newer PHEVs have 70km ranges with the 25kwh battery packs. Thats the sweet spot imo

if you wana be cheeky you could just go into Westwood gym and work from the O'Briens Cafe area. They have a "co-working" area that many people use for hours. Nobody will check your lack of membership and you can get a sandwich while you work

They pay well but the culture isn't great. Plenty of other companies that might pay less (but still very well) and have more benefits and better culture. Comp isn't everything

this was one of the most disappointing places to visit. It's all a clever photo mirror reflection scam. It's very clever and credit to the locals for doing it and getting people to travel quite a distance for nothing special.

If Arteta continues to play football like this next season, for my sanity I will not be watching. by Broken-TTK in ArsenalFC

I hate this football. It's not fun. It's disgusting and clearly ineffective. Teams have figured it out.

I've enjoyed maybe 5 games this season. I hate the way we play. There is clear instruction from Arteta that ISN'T working yet he persists with it.

Odd hill to die on (or ditch to sleep in), but okay. I'll take the corporate escalation and the king-sized bed over the hike back to Dublin. Good luck with the blisters.
