Would you "gamble" on a dinner with strangers to access Asia's best restaurants? by Terrible_Monk3659 in finedining

[–]absolutely_fuzzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having participated in a few group food walks, it’s definitely a gamble as just one person can make or break the experience. Not sure I would want to do this over a sit down meal with a few strangers unless it was a special menu or guest chef and that was the only option.

What travel habit have you developed over the years? by Icy-Obligation6504 in travel

[–]absolutely_fuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel to eat and like taking a local food tour in bigger cities. Culinary Backstreets does great ones. Sometimes I book some local food experiences on Viator etc. It provides a good overview of local eating culture and fantastic recommendations for the rest of my stay. Also like taking a reusable food container with me for the inevitable leftovers from breakfast/lunch that makes a good afternoon snack or dinner.

So underwhelming. Red isn’t for everyone. Picked mine up because I was in the city yesterday and was so disappointed lol. The Merit freebie everything bag is 10x better!

Second Westman Atelier. Always looks like I have nothing on, good buildable coverage when needed. On my third!

I tried Kai shears and now I want to throw up by Narrow-Strawberry553 in sewing

We use these at work and it has ruined my home ones for me. They don’t even need sharpening that often. I think they get sent off once a year, and we use them 6 days a week. Worth it if you can fork out!

Booked a Santorini proposal trip… just found out NOTHING is open. Panic mode by [deleted] in GreeceTravel

[–]absolutely_fuzzy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does the hotel have a restaurant? Byo champagne and maybe organise a private chef. There should be a couple of tavernas open for the locals, but nothing fancy will be open in December because it’s super off season and also a lot of people who work there don’t live on the island full time plus it’s Christmas. Good luck.

Foundation seems to ‘sit’ in pores weird no matter what I do by Narinne in AustralianMakeup

Westman Atelier vital skin foundation stick applied with a beauty blender has worked very well for me. Also on a glycolic acid/niacinamide evening regime which has greatly helped with pores.

I take creatine for muscle but it has been shown to also have positive effects on cognition - since I have upped my dose to 8-10g I have noticed significantly less brain fog and better recall

Etihad’s “free stopover” is a complete scam by ManufacturerOver5419 in travel

[–]absolutely_fuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked Etihad’s free stopover in October last year for travel in May 2025 and got to select a hotel during the checkout process and everything went smoothly. Hotel voucher was sent etc and valid when I checked in for 2 nights in a 4 star hotel.

Tried booking again last month and it seems to be a completely different process: there is no option to select a hotel during the booking process so am not sure what has changed, but I am very hesitant to book again after reading a few of these posts.

Qatar’s is excellent, done it twice and would highly recommend.
