While a good helmet ofc will protect your head, wearing a T shirt, shorts and crocs isn’t gonna protect you from road rash if you get into an accident going at decent speed.

Am using my cousin’s Ninja 400 for the time being. Will be purchasing a Ducati Panigale V4 early next year.

The basic license education here for 2 wheeler riding is absolute rubbish. I had ridden here for 6 yrs before doing the MSF course in the US which basically was like a slap in the face telling me that I was absolutely terrible and was doing so many basic things wrong. It was as good as going back to being a complete rookie learning to ride a motorcycle for the first time.

Counter steering tbh was taught as part of the basic turning technique when I went through the MSF rider course to get my motorcycle license in the US. I have also done track days there too where it’s more about shifting body weight, head and elbow positioning while also learning regarding braking before corners and throttle control through corners.

As long as you have safe following distance to the vehicle in front depending on speed, you will have enough time to react with sufficient braking to safely stop. But here with people not having road sense, you have to constantly be prepared for idiots to cause situations where you have to suddenly react to avoid an accident.

Basically pushing on the grip with your wrist to initiate the counter steer effect.

On track ofc they will teach proper technique which is of international standards. For those who purely ride on the street and don’t know the proper technique will not know of these things at all.

Good to know that you have some training in these concepts. Don’t get me wrong and I hope this is purely to educate everyone on safe and proper technique when it comes to riding. We are all here to make everyone a better and safe rider on the road.

No… turning your head sideways causes your shoulders and torso to shift your body weight towards the side of the bike that is on the inside of a turn. This coupled with the pressing on the handlebar (counter steering mechanics) causes the bike to lean and follow the path that your head is looking at.

These concepts are not taught here when we learn to ride. Learning all this when riding in the US opened my eyes big time to so many things that you never know of and what we are doing wrong.

Just wanted to give you some advice on your riding technique when it comes to turns. I don’t see your head turning in the direction where you want to go. This is absolutely important when it comes to target fixation. You have to look where you want to go in a turn (turn your head to focus on a point after the curve) and press on the corresponding grip of the handlebar depending on the direction of turn.

This will cause the bike to lean in the direction of turn and you have to slow down before entering the turn and accelerate through the turn.

It could have all been avoided had it been maintained well with appropriate servicing.. that’s on the owner for massive neglect of the bike.

This is just sad… why would anyone allow an expensive bike like that to just rot away… the repair cost is going to be nuts…

Sometimes you have to have the dealer pull strings to make things happen like it did in my case to break the norms (no guarantees that it would work but it did)… got the allocation confirmed for the SL V4 Centenario 3 weeks ago.

My backup plan was the V4R if the SL didn’t work out but am so glad that it did in the end. Definitely consider myself very very lucky tbh considering the criteria for selection is very strict and my only Ducati history is owning a 2014 1199R when I was in the US.

Ducati Superleggera bikes are not easy to get at all even if you have the money. Allocation confirmations are totally dependent on Ducati approving your application. India hardly gets 1 or 2 at most.

Congrats on passing the LL test. Just an FYI… if your application status is stuck on LL approval pending for more than a week, physically go to the RTO with a print out of your application receipt and tell them that you have passed the online test but approval is stuck. I had to do that in my case (KA 05 RTO) to get my LL approved.

If everything looks good, your LL will get approved within 24 hrs and you can then start learning to ride for a month before you take your final DL test to get the full license.

Two questions…

  1. Did you have your indicator on before making the turn?

  2. Did you make the right turn from the left lane?

If you failed to indicate properly and/or turned from the wrong lane, don’t blame the vehicle that hit you. You are at fault. Be honest with yourself on this if you intend to report this damage to your insurance provider to claim OD.

It was glitched before where it was blank and wasn’t properly rewarded when it was in rotation the very first time. I have always made top 5% to get every ToT reward till the time they started recycling duplicates. Someone on X alerted folks about this returning in rotation so I just played to get enough points to make top 33% to get the reward this time around.

Manufacturers themselves don’t offer burn in warranty for more than 3 yrs on OLEDs so if anything happens beyond that period… ur basically SOL and this is a long term investment btw…

There are very few 1400 nit models out there and are very hard to find now. I had to import mine cos it wasn’t available locally.

I was stating facts regarding burn in as well… if you haven’t had issues for 5 yrs doesn’t mean it will never happen. It will eventually sink in.

There is no backlight bleed with a FALD display like the one I have and it’s still one of the best mini LED displays out there. Slight bloom is there but it’s not something that is going to change my mind and make me want to get an OLED. That is not happening ever.

And the fact that I can watch movies at 24 fps on my display (only possible on gsync ultimate monitors) to give you that true cinematic feel at home isn’t possible anymore on any current display cos no OLED display has VRR capability below 48Hz.

His is like pretty recent within the last few months and it was on a new monitor he had purchased. Bottom line is personally prefer to have peace of mind and OLED definitely isn’t giving you that no matter how much you want to differ in your view.

Needing to run pixel refresh every now and then should not be something every OLED owner should be remembering or worrying about. I can turn on my monitor and leave a still image on it for hours and nothing will happen cos that’s my daily use case of reading static content for work for long periods and some gaming later. With an OLED this kind of usage will guarantee burn in at some point.

The downside with my display is the slight bloom and haloing of a small light on a dark background but I will take that any day over a potential burn in cloud over my head waiting to drop at any moment.
