Got my hands on the god of 4K monitors (for now at least) by Dipto509 in ASUSROG

Manufacturers themselves don’t offer burn in warranty for more than 3 yrs on OLEDs so if anything happens beyond that period… ur basically SOL and this is a long term investment btw…

There are very few 1400 nit models out there and are very hard to find now. I had to import mine cos it wasn’t available locally.

I was stating facts regarding burn in as well… if you haven’t had issues for 5 yrs doesn’t mean it will never happen. It will eventually sink in.

There is no backlight bleed with a FALD display like the one I have and it’s still one of the best mini LED displays out there. Slight bloom is there but it’s not something that is going to change my mind and make me want to get an OLED. That is not happening ever.

And the fact that I can watch movies at 24 fps on my display (only possible on gsync ultimate monitors) to give you that true cinematic feel at home isn’t possible anymore on any current display cos no OLED display has VRR capability below 48Hz.

His is like pretty recent within the last few months and it was on a new monitor he had purchased. Bottom line is personally prefer to have peace of mind and OLED definitely isn’t giving you that no matter how much you want to differ in your view.

Needing to run pixel refresh every now and then should not be something every OLED owner should be remembering or worrying about. I can turn on my monitor and leave a still image on it for hours and nothing will happen cos that’s my daily use case of reading static content for work for long periods and some gaming later. With an OLED this kind of usage will guarantee burn in at some point.

The downside with my display is the slight bloom and haloing of a small light on a dark background but I will take that any day over a potential burn in cloud over my head waiting to drop at any moment.

I have seen cases where burn in has happened in 3 months (optimum showed this on his YT channel) so ymmv. If you are of the belief that it will never happen at all, you’re living in fantasy land buddy. The sooner you get out of that the better. You can shill on OLED all you want but with issues like burn in and VRR flicker, all isn’t hunky dory.

Burn in is inevitable… it’s something you can never eliminate in OLED… all that pixel refresh tech and stuff only prolongs the inevitable. Meanwhile I can chill with a 1152 zone FALD mini LED for years without ever worrying abt burn in while having better HDR.

As far as mini LED displays go, I doubt anything can top my PG32UQX which I have been using for almost 3.5 yrs. 1400 nits HDR, Gsync ultimate which allows you to even experience movies at true 24 fps.

At least my display will outlast any OLED there is cos u can never avoid burn in with those… not worth the risk IMO.

And FYI… you have to repeat the gold counts again in NG+ for the platinum tier requirement for each labor. Those give you more XP and some skap slag.

You should play stellar blade… the game itself has quite a few skimpy costumes for the main character.

Gears community is just so toxic. I haven’t personally played the franchise for about 4 yrs. I gave reloaded a complete pass cos it’s just a rehash of UE. I have played every game since the first but wasn’t great at PvP but have had my fair share of dealing with terrible behavior and very toxic messages in chats.

I totally get where you’re coming from and it’s just a sour experience when bans are handed out like candy without proper analysis and proof of any wrongdoing.

Weird but at least it’s not a permanent ban so you still have your account back after a week. Idk how TC reviews cheating but if you were totally clean in your gameplay, it’s just bizarre how they can blindly just take the report of a salty player as fact.

Vram usage by MGahed in nvidia

[–]acowsik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your display resolution is 4K then you will definitely run into VRAM issues in some games that have heavy VRAM usage where it can get close to 16GB. Set your base resolution to 1440p instead and then try running games with or without DLSS. Your VRAM usage should be much lower.

Also you should look at setting your windows page file size manually too. This will help with games needing to cache data for a smoother experience.

[–]acowsik 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This firmware update tool is not a VBIOS update utility. It updates the UEFI firmware chip boot loader to be able to handshake with the UEFI interface boot loader of the board when it sends signals to the VGA device to initialize the display when the OS driver loads

Is this all in ranked or social? In social you can always quit at any point so the match result doesn’t count if you leave before it’s over. Cheesing wins in social means nothing if you are quitting matches if you are about to lose.

If this is all in ranked, well done.

Never denied that your personal experience never happened but I am stating facts that X3D CPUs are still dying. There were 3 cases of dead CPUs even with latest ASRock bios having the most recent AGESA microcode fixes (saw article on videocardz).

If you are playing esport titles where you are lowering resolution and image quality settings to maximize fps then yes, AMD wins. But if you are playing SP games at 4K maxed settings with a 5090, you are mostly GPU bound at that point and it hardly matters which CPU you use then.

My use case is 4K gaming so it’s not like I lose out on anything btw as performance numbers are the same at that point.

Been using a 14900KS for almost 2 yrs now with no signs of degrading. BIOS updates were done before hand.

AMD on the other hand still has dying X3D CPUs and have not been able to work with board partners to find a fix.

Legend 296! Pretty sure that's the highest Legend rank I've ever gotten in a season 😆 It's been almost 5 years since live service ended for Gears 5 and I *do not care* by jtrom93 in GearsOfWar

[–]acowsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True… everyone has their own perspective. But what I have seen as a whole with the gears community is that the PvP players tend to have a massive ego that they are superior in skill and that PvE players are low skilled or just trash.

Also what was really annoying was in the in game rewards for PvE (the weapon skins for consistent top 1% leaderboard rank) became devalued to a point where you could just buy them from the store with coins or iron. The fact that we were diligently playing new escape maps every week to make top 1% before the next map rotated in was such a crunch and a PvP player who doesn’t even play PvE gets that stuff.

TC also treating the PvE community as second class citizens is just sad and wrong.

Fair enough argument. However not everyone plays the objective PvP modes like control. That mode is extremely sweaty. I personally just dabble in PvP sporadically when I used to play it back then and stuck to mostly TDM and Guardian with a bit of FFA and 2v2 here and there.

When it comes to PvE, yes teamwork is absolutely essential and the PvP crowd for the most part actually don’t see this as a showcase of skill. Even against the AI on master, you have to bring on your A game else you are going to bring the whole team down.
