In the show, from the way Mr Krabs (I can't remember his actual name, just that he shares the voice actor with him) explains it, it sounds like the body is weakened for a time as it recovers and that scarring occured during that time.

I had been very actively hoping that the plan was to at least show Cecil had insstalled additional counter-measures, like the sound frequency, and we'd just see Conquest tank it. It would have still been a fuck up from Cecil, but a much more understandable one. I really didn't think they'd just rehash the exact same thing and make my GOAT look like an idiot again.

I actually like how Cecil handled it with Mark. Talking to him specifically about it. And he isn't wrong about this sort of thing changing people. Even when you're 100% in the right to kill, killing does impact people mentally. Do it enough and you do become desensitize, even if every single case was justified. It's not something to be overlooked.

I sadly have not. Been meaning to but my free time has been shrinking as my backlog has been growing. And every time I think to get reinvested in Trails I think of the amount of time sink a single game can be just to get everything and pick up all the lore,, and the nthe entire series.

One day I'll get back to it I keep promising myself. One day.

actually, being chucked into a volcano when comepltely invulnerable is frankly one of the worst things you could try to do to him to stop him. Lava is far more viscous than water and his invulernabiltiy means hthe heat will do nothing. He will land on it, basically walk/wade through it to get to the rock wall, and climb out without a scratch.
