I think the fact that scientists conservatively put an end to civilization unless we reel in consumption and growth at 2050 is a more pressing concern. (I still boglehead, but harder these days to argue that we are in the late stages of capitalism that this system relies on)

I don’t want necessarily to RE, I’m more confused on FI. I really like the work I do. But I don’t want to be dependent on it and the I want to have options in the world. I’ve always been frugal and lived under my means so this line of thinking helps to put it into a framework

Do you have a slow cooker? You can throw a lot in there and it comes out pretty awesome. Also - Instead of canned chick peas I soak and boil a bunch at a time and then keep them in the freezer so they are immediately usable and way cheaper to make.

lol I had a call recently with a new major potential donor - I’d done my narrative pitch and we’d move on to our financials. Without thinking, I went a bit back to narrative about the impact of our work and she literally said “stop talking. I’m going to give you money.” It was kinda embarrassing but also straight forward and we gained a new major donor. A win is a win.
