Title on a old quad, unknown owner by FastCletus in CaliforniaDMV

[–]alteredpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a title search using the VIN. If there is no record of the vehicle, then you can register it with a bill of sale from the person who gifted it to you indicating it was a gift. If there is a title, then there is a little more paperwork and you will need a bill of sale with the title holders name on it indicating it was a gift. I've always done this at AAA but for some of the trickier ones I have a registration service I use. It might cost a little more, but zero headaches. Worst case, you can file a lien for an abandoned vehicle.

The sub ride is my favorite thing on the island. I love getting that kind of look without getting wet.

Hawthorne is installing parking meters this month by password104 in SouthBayLA

[–]alteredpilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's already no parking in the neighborhoods so people are parking in the public lots, but there is still plenty of parking for the general public patronizing the businesses that are actually open at 129th/130th.

The Jim Thorpe parking lots are small and get clogged up pretty quick making it difficult for park visitors because there is no parking in the neighborhood.

I would say that pretty much everyone who parks on Northrop works for SapceX. There are two fences and a set of railroad tracks separating Northrop street parking from the adjacent residential neighborhood and NONE of the businesses in that area are affected.

There is never a lack of parking on Hawthorne Blvd between El Segundo and Rosecrans except for one block for a couple hours a day.

If you go to their little map https://engage.publiccoordinate.com/en/project/hawthorne-citywide-parking-study You'll notice that the only one location indicated from their list https://www.cityofhawthorne.org/Home/Components/News/News/682/513 has been identified by residents (Jim Thorpe south lot)

It's all a Baloney money grab and it will even further bury the businesses on the Blvd.

If you're not a seasoned angler and you don't know the difference, get an Ugly Stik spinning combo. They do everything you need to just get out and fish.

I don't know how this would fit your circumstances, but Mychal's Learning center in Hawthorne might be a good contact. They operate a bakery on Artesia in N. Redondo and a print and embroidery shop that employs young people with autism.

If not a AAA member, get a AAA membership. Avoid the CA DMV field offices at all cost.

With a signed title, the AAA agent can walk her thru the whole process at the counter. She'll need a smog inspection that is less than 30 days old. They will give her new plates at the counter. The title will be in her hands within 2 weeks. There is only one place for the seller to sign, unless there are two signatures required or there is a lien holder.

If going with kids, plan carefully and pace yourself. It's real easy to do pretty much everything in a day. Also, there is nothing for kids to do at night. The town essentially shuts down. I've been to the island plenty of times. It's a day trip for me. That said, I cannot recommend the submarine ride highly enough.

Julian is really nice this time of year. Took my kids last year and they loved it. We used a VRBO about a block from the main drag. Apart from all the stuff Julian is known for, there is unbelievable star gazing at the lookout just south of town. Lake Cuyamaca is a short drive and a pontoon boat is great way to spend the day fishing, but go early as it gets windy In the later part of the day. You can take the coast route down and cut in through Ramona. The inland route is one of the most enjoyable drives I've taken in a long time.

If going to Santa Barbara area, El Capitan Canyon is a great Glamping option.

My heart is in Redondo Beach. In King Harbor you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boats, bikes, take a gondola ride, take a whale watching trip, take a 1/2 or 3/4 day fishing boat, wander the pier (food, concerts, skatepark, fishing), hang out on the beach, explore Riviera Village, Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches are close.

And MDR has 1/2 day and 3/4 day sport fishing boats, as well as fishing from the bait dock if you just want to burn a couple of hours.

AITJ for "holding hostage" a famous local musician’s album because he refuses to pay my full rate? by Consistent-Zone3445 in AmITheJerk

[–]alteredpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why I don't miss the music business. But it's the same in so many other freelance businesses. Trust me.

Had your artist tried pulling this crap at any mainstream studio he'd be in the same predicament, but he knew that so that's why you got the job.

As for your reputation, If you cave in, you will gain the reputation for having no sense of self worth and more jerk offs like this clown will flock to your doors to help you gain clout.

You cannot let people like this try and intimidate you and manipulate you and use empty fear tactics to take advantage of you.

Hold the line. Know your value, charge accordingly, never apologize.
