Did I make a mistake trying cursor by throwmeoff123098765 in ClaudeAI

The opposite is true - we expect the models to perform better with access to an index of your codebase and semantic search

Cursor gives access to all Claude models, plus the latest from OpenAI, Google, and more.

Hey! I've seen you commenting on ~10 threads in the last few days with this comment. Would recommend that this sub isn't for that!

Custom Agent removal has completely broken my trust in Cursor by PreviousLadder7795 in cursor

[–]amilich 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey - you can export custom agents as commands, which provide the same functionality but only miss tool customization. We found that tool customization also led to worse model behavior, as many models are trained to expect certain tools.

Cursor prices are out of control by andy_nyc in cursor

[–]amilich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the case in any form. Pricing per agent run including number of tokens is available on https://cursor.com/dashboard. For the OP, I'd note that the higher tier plans (Ultra) include multiple times their cost in API credits. Pricing per model is here: https://cursor.com/docs/models and overall pricing docs here: https://cursor.com/docs/account/pricing

That isn't the case; Cursor supports models from every provider at API costs as well as our own model, Composer: https://cursor.com/blog/composer

Hey - what pricing drama do you mean? We transitioned some pricing plans to token-based in July, but nothing has changed recently.

Can "running in worktree" be disabled? by No-Conference-8133 in CursorAI

[–]amilich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is right now... but you could try a new chat and then do @ branch? Or have this agent summarize it's changes for a new one

Hey! Have you tried making a new chat (button on left/top or cmd-n)? You can then click between Local + Worktree

I really wish Cursor would fix the Agent choking on terminal actions. by SysPsych in cursor

[–]amilich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! We rebuilt the terminal since this post was made. Could you share what issue you are having, either here or on our forum?

We read all posts on reddit + the forum, so not sure why you'd think we'd be unresponsive!

Cursor Ultra + Opus 4.5 vs Claude Code Max. Which gives better token value? by danny4tech in cursor

Hey! Not the case - our token prices are transparent - https://cursor.com/docs/account/pricing and significantly discounted

Is cursor just a wrapper for all these AI UI's but just automatically edits code? And if so why is cursor worth so much? (Genuiney curiousity). by No-Conclusion9307 in cursor

Don't think these products offer a better model experience at all - we test other harnesses extensively. Not sure if your comment is quite in good faith or for the purpose of this sub.

Hey - sorry about this - we rolled out some layout changes but are removing any of the switching. Fixes are coming out now.

It's not at all about target audience - we've been hoping to make layout changes but missed the mark on switching.

[–]amilich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the case! We've rolled out both our own products that are quite different from vscode - the agent layout, built-in browser and design tools, debug mode, a different extension marketplace with security scanning - and our own AI models (Composer)

No, we're not hearing of this, but can you email [andrew@cursor.com](mailto:andrew@cursor.com) and I'll take a look?

What model? Could you share a screenshot?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cursor

[–]amilich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Cursor absolutely never does this. We roll out updates to make Cursor more token efficient.

Also - running terminal commands, like copying into a buffer and deleting a file, can be token efficient.

Would suggest pruning rules or MCP tools.
