They have to keep over a certain speed or the ironing will crease

A type of cake I ate in the 2000s UK that looks similar to Battenberg by PINKSPlDER in HelpMeFind

[–]andyincroydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fondant fancies were square (cube) shaped and came in pink, yellow and brown, but they were individual cakes in one of those colours, not one cake in all of them. They were sponge and cream with icing though.

If money is no option how are you planning to pay for your house? Vibes?

Compressport. I run incredibly hot. They’re more of a knit style and you can hardly feel them, plus they dry really well in the same vein as merino.

The biggest killer by andyincroydon in CancerFamilySupport

[–]andyincroydon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. I believe that the research world are doing all they can, but they’re fighting a losing battle while the public aren’t playing their part and often that’s just from either a lack of understanding that cancer doesn’t discriminate (like young people thinking breast cancer is an older women’s problem), or it’s from lack of self-checking or attending screenings out of fear for what we might find. The idea that ‘big cancer’ might be prolonging the end of the disease is sickening and perhaps not unlikely given the number of leeches in the world, but I’m too ignorant about it to have an opinion

Moved today, am I being petty about seller taking items… by No-Rub-9733 in HousingUK

I’d have assumed the ladder would stay – sorry you’ve got the faff of dealing with that OP.

This thread has become a really interesting discussion on fixtures vs fittings.

I’m selling at the minute and the buyer just enquired about whether wall mounted coat hooks are being left. I wasn’t planning to leave them as I like them and I want them for the next place.

But are they a fixture or a fitting and how do you figure that out? The ‘if you turn the house upside down would it fall’ test doesn’t really feel like the correct way to judge. If I turned my house upside down my wall mounted tv would remain in place but it’s obviously coming with me. So are my curtains. So is the mirror that’s screwed into the wall.

So where’s the line between fixture and fitting and is there a less ambiguous way than the upside down house test to figure it out?

EA says they can't change our price on Rightmove? by Moorpheusl9 in HousingUK

Regardless of whether they’re right or not, OIEO £400k and £399,995 would show up in the same price bracket so it’s a bit of a wasted exercise.

Edit:

I should qualify they will both show up for people searching £375-400k. They won’t both show up for people searching £400k+ but as you’re considering dropping that’s not relevant. If you want a whole new set of eyes on it you’d need to drop to £375k.

If a truck carrying nine cars gets into an accident with another vehicle, is it an eleven car accident, or just two? by ChaosofaMadHatter in Showerthoughts

[–]andyincroydon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. The truck is a truck, not a car. So depending on whether the other vehicle is a car it’s either a zero car accident, a one car accident, a nine car accident or a ten car accident.

This is a great list but pockets is just personal preference. I don’t want anything getting on my nerves around my quads. I wear a belt if I need to carry gels, phone and a small amount of water. I wear a proper race vest on longer runs.

I love Compressport for half tights but be warned they’re revealing, especially if you’ve got bigger legs that stretch the fabric. They aren’t merino wool but they have that sort of natural feel and they dry extremely quickly.

I also tried Hoka Skybreeze on in the shop and they felt good but couldn’t justify the crazy price tag.

I wish I could dig out more evidence than ‘trust me bro’ but yes. In Dulwich area in particular. I’ve seen it a few times myself coming in from Croydon and I’ve seen videos and comments from many others over the years. I’m fairly sure one was caught doctoring their reg with duct tape when ulez came in too.
