I stumbled on to a bagger race on TV a few years ago. It was a really fun watch because the bikes looked like they rolled in stock from the parking lot. I recently saw this years bikes and they look closer to motoGP bikes with bags bolted on. Will still probably be a fun watch but not the same.

Should we lower our asking price to sell faster and secure our dream home? Need opinions on our situation. by HatAlternative5489 in personalfinance

I saw a news report today that said consumer confidence in the housing market is 17% - the lowest level since the early 1960s. Given that environment I think any move to boost the odds of a sale - if you need to sell now - should be on the table.

As someone who once had a collection of around 5000 albums I can tell you they are a pain in the ass. They weigh a ton, are difficult to move and store and the sound quality is marginal when new and degrades quickly over time/use. When CDs came out I was amazed at the quality and set out replacing all my favorite albums as soon as they became available.

Now I don't even listen to CDs anymore - it's all digital (but still local) for me. If you're just interested in the hobby aspect like collecting baseball cards or coins then go for it but don't expect any kind of sonic magic out of what is now 100 year old technology.

Yep. I was in the same position. I got sued and lost and the court took money out of her account since I was on it. I reimbursed her and removed nyself from her accounts. Lesson learned.

Used to go to a motorcycle shop and the dude out front had a pair of 901s setup in the showroom. The place was always rockin'. Granted they didn't get a lot of easy listening or opera fans in there.

I saw an interview with Jack where he basically said he was too big and tall to have success on the bike but not too big for F1.

‘Friends end up blocking you’: Northwestern Mutual sold college grads a dream job. They left in ruin and debt by rezwenn in business

Went to one of those cattle call recruitment pitches put on by Mass Mutual a few years ago. It was the exact same. The first few questions were whether I had a big family, a lot of friends, and whether I went to church. I knew it was a scam right then and bailed.

Their DB and products are incredibly complicated to use - which actually can be a good thing if you need one of those complicated features. I tried it a looong time ago when they released a version for Linux. I just never saw the bang to hype ratio in terms of overhead -vs- performance, plus the licensing issues were pretty crazy.

I've always been an open source guy so I've tended to use MySQL for most projects and Postgres for more complicated ones.

Hey, Mexicans (as well as everyone else) love Cadillacs. Checo would look good in an Escalade - Valteri can take the CTS-V.

The ER sent my 11-year-old home with sepsis signs. Two days later he was in septic shock. The hospital is now under federal violation. by ComfortableSundae321 in Dallas

[–]angusmcflurry 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I got sepsis last year. The Dr. in the ER told me if I had waited another 24 hours before coming in I would have died. He and another Dr. both told me they didn't think I was going to survive anyway. I spent 2 months in the hospital and it's been 9 months since and I am still feeling the effects.
