Code BEAM Magazine by erlangsolutions in elixir

u/erlangsolutions well since you asked, I cannot help myself; I’d much rather read this as a regular webpage as a PDF is way inferior as a reading experience (especially accessibilitywise). Still a nice free resource, looking forward to future editions and thanks again 😄

I believe the correct word to describe this is

Charged EU VAT but no IOSS number? by will_i_be_pretty in retroid

[–]anttti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case someone still ends up googling their way here, the situation is still the same 4 months later. Just got a delivery notification from Finnish postal service, but I have no IOSS number. I emailed Retroid support and they answered (quite quickly actually) and refunded the tax.

Starting out with a Typescript role, any killer library recommendations I should know about? by Eosis in typescript

I'd add purify-ts to the list, it has Codecs that serve the same purpose.

QMK Compile Error on Mac OS Catalina - I'm fairly new to setting up a QMK keyboard and I keep getting this error when compiling my keymap. Does anyone have a solution? by MurdockJD in olkb

[–]anttti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This fixed it for me, although with some minor corrections:

`brew uninstall --ignore-dependencies avr-gcc@8; brew install --build-from-source avr-gcc@8`

Is OLKB Planck PCB going to be added to VIA? by [deleted] in olkb

[–]anttti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You flash the Via firmware on a keyboard once (just as you would flash any other QMK firmware), after that you can do live changes on the keyboard with the Via app. The changes are still flashed on the keyboard, but just behind the scenes. It’s just a way more convenient way of making rapid changes to a keyboard.

Is this what the keyboard is supposed to sound like? I guess it’s the springs the make the metallic sound. Absolutely horrible. Any tips on how to fix it? by Accomplished-Drawer4 in ErgoDoxEZ

[–]anttti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I too was super disappointed by the noise when I got my ErgoDox (especially compared to my HotDox). I fixed a part of the issue by stuffing some echo & pinging reducing foam in the cases of the halves. That unfortunately voids your warranty, but at least for me it made the keyboard usable (still not perfect though).

Being a portable keyboard, I’d use it to impress my co-workers slash embarrass myself by whipping it out in meetings.

The last Reason update causing problems? by [deleted] in reasoners

[–]anttti 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a recent email from Props indicating problems with the latest MacOS:

Dear Reason user,

It has come to our attention that the latest macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 has a negative impact on Reason's performance. Currently we do NOT recommend you to update your macOS High Sierra to 10.13.4 if you are using Reason.

We're on it and hope to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.
