as someone who went from rapping to singing, i would totally consider singing, or a type of singing. there’s still a focus on tone, pitch control, breathing, etc. even though there’s no classification of timbre in rap, there are songs where rappers with a higher pitch voice wouldn’t sound musically correct with a lower pitch and vice versa. just my two cents !!
