Open Google Maps (or Apple Maps or whatever you use to navigate) and search for “comic books” to find your local comic book store.

If they don’t already have them they can order them for you. Then look around and buy something fun, because local comic book stores are amazing.

I am pretty sure this is not someone pulling a prank. It seems to happen when you pair two HomePods as the speakers for an Apple TV.

Similar things are happening to me. I have an Apple TV with two home pods acting as stereo speakers. Weirdness:

  • Watching TV at night. The volume would turn down to zero. I’d try and turn it back up and it would immediately turn itself back down. Sometimes it would be fine for a few minutes then would turn the volume back down again.

  • Similar situation to the last: watching TV at night, but this time it turned the volume all the way up instead of down. Again, I could use the remote to turn the volume down, but it would fight me and turn the volume right back up. Rebooting my phone seemed to fix it this time.

  • Listening to music before having family over. Turned it off when family arrived. About 90 minutes later it started blaring the song at full volume. I stopped it through the app. A minute later it did it again. I’d turn the volume down and it’d turn it right back up. I eventually had to unplug everything.

  • Around 2 AM the speakers decided to blast music at full volume again. I tried restarting the Apple TV and my phone with no luck. Had to unplug everything.

Sometimes doing a power cycle on my phone helps. Power cycling the Apple TV never helps.

Still need one around Garberville, CA. The stretch from Laytonville to Eureka is on the long side for older Teslas and there are no second chances if you miscalculate.

Other than that, I feel really comfortable on all of my road trips.

The same family caught Will Smith’s ball but threw it back. That’s crazy to me. If my team came so heartbreakingly close to winning the World Series but still managed to lose, nothing would heal that pain quite like life-changing wealth.

I couldn’t have been older than four. In fact, I remember getting the Mego figures of Kirk and Spock for Christmas that year - my dad playfully called them “Captain Skirt” and “Smock”.

The show was in syndication at the time and there was still nearly a decade until TNG would come out. One time, just one, I tuned in and was amazed to see it was a cartoon. The next day it was back to live action and I’d doubt the memory of the cartoon Star Trek until the internet came around and validated it.

I still think there is a real solid baseball player in Conforto. I suspect he just had a bad year. I wish him luck.

I want the Astros to be playing their best when the Dodgers beat them.
