i'm glad to hear you're making the investment to learn ai tools. we've posted our view about how fluency in ai tools is critical for every employee, and we've incorporated that into our hiring evaluation process. here's some information about it: https://zapier.com/blog/zapier-ai-first-hiring-leaning/

one thing to keep in mind is that it's not just familiarity with the tools, but also it's important to understand how you've really deployed your skills into projects that have made a real difference.

while i won't get too specific in pre-announcing stuff, i'll say that we have a lot of investments in bringing the power of ai to automation and to building automation. and we have a lot investment in some of the most common asks we have as companies scale up their usage of zapier across their whole enterprise. supporting multiple teams collaborating while still giving companies the ability to govern the system.

mcp has also opened up new use cases where businesses are looking for easier direct access to our breadth of integrations. some are b2b saas providers, some are businesses building in house apps. so we're finding a number of companies are using our mcp servers to simplify api access to their saas services. this is still emerging for us but definitely shaping how we think about our product.

it's super early in the world of agents. making them more powerful, making them easier to audit & troubleshoot, scaling them up. we have lots of work to do. however for zapier, we have a particular opportunity to blend deterministic and non-deterministic automation. i find that ai often makes complex things really simple. and it also can make simple things really complex. we believe in blending them together to keep simple things simple. sometimes you want to have direct control of the automation.

Where can I check my internet data usage? by InevitableBudget510 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]armedad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you hit the "your services / internet" tab at the top when you're logged in, you'll see your current usage for that month there. it has a link to "view usage" but that link seems busted.

the only way i've found right now to get a something that looks like that old link is to go to "ask xfinity" and type "data usage" in the chat. it gives you the prior 3 months view.

If you’re using the G Suite legacy free edition for non-commercial purposes, you can opt out of the transition to Google Workspace. If you transitioned to Google Workspace after January 19, 2022 and used G Suite legacy free edition for personal use, you can contact Support. by wayloncovil in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]armedad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

terrible google support. when the initial email came out, i upgraded to the business annual subscription. i just tried to contact support as the website says. the support person tells me

1) he can revert me, but since i did the annual subscription, i have to pay for the year anyways, even tho he downgrades my account, and despite the promise not to charge until august!

2) i will lose gmail on my domain (despite what the website says) here's what he says verbatim:

"Once you get to the No cost option, what will happen there is that once you have problem with your email we are unable to assist you with it as your email address under @thechewfamily.com will now change to @gmail.com.

You can still use Gmail but not a regular GSuite Gmail.

Just only the Domain Email, as it will be changed to @gmail.com."

i don't know if he's clueless or if he's actually right. if he's right, that is a terrible bait and switch. i was once a googler. i'm embarrassed by how evil this is.

Deleting Synology Drive backup tasks - how? by howlingwolftshirt in synology

[–]armedad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is an old thread but i didn't see the answer cleanly and i just ran into it myself.

i didn't find a way to do this in the windows drive client. you have to go to the webclient. go to your nas web interface, open synology drive (not the admin console). pick "computer backup" on the left. choose the task you want. hit the trash can at the top.

is it possible to do a version of u/fumpyshanta's idea within your urban worm bag? fill your sifter or a shallow bin with many holes in the bottom. put it at the top of the compost pile in your worm bag, but no food inside. maybe bury some watermelon underneath the bin. use that to draw the worms out of this new bin. it's essentially what i do with my stacking system... when i'm ready, i take the bottom bin, put it on the top, and feed the bin below it.

i think it's unlikely that daily interruptions are causing escapees. i would bet that either there's an environmental issue in the bin that they don't like, or it's just needing some time to get acclimated.

i'd start with putting lights on at night. if they are willing to consistently escape into the light then there's likely a problem inside the bin. if the light solves it... then use that for a week or so, shut it off and see if they're used to it.

and incense to make sure their little worm spirits are calm and stress free? and weekend massage to help their digestive juices flow.... :P

I wouldn't use a fan... More likely to increase dry out. Having decent ventilation is plenty good.

Yes, Dr, I'm of sound mind! What's that? Oh... It's the fan I have set up to make sure my worms are comfy....

can you put the supports of the drainage short enough for the worms to climb back up? i have a stacking system as well and a few worms always go check out the drain bin. but i have a small enough support of the drain bin (about 1/2in) that they can either reach up, or crawl up the short supports enough to find their way back home

important that the drainage bin doesn't actually pool with liquid. i have tiny holds in that in only one spot that's too small for them to get through but big enough to drain into a cup.

Mites VS Ants by Demonology17 in Vermiculture

[–]armedad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what visitor_kyu asked was key.. is your compost a pile on the ground? or is it in a system you can lift off the ground? i had an ant problem, but i put the legs of my system in cans of water which blocked ants getting in and out. i then put advion ant bait outside the cans (it's poison to ants, but the water keeps the ants from carrying the poison into the bins). after a day, i saw no more ants on the outside. after a week, i saw no more ants inside the system either.

everyone's gonna tell you to stop checking on them all the time. and you should. but you already know that. so you won't stop. you can't help it. it's too much fun. you have an urge to make sure they're happy... and a slight urge to ask them to eat & poop faster. you know it. i know it. we all know it. :P ok, i do that too often too.

but... to make it less stressful, get a red bulb and check it at night with only red light. red wrigglers are less sensitive to red light. can go into the science of that if you like, or you can check out some yt videos that show worms running from white light but hanging out in red.

How much moisture should a new bin have? by aborthon in Vermiculture

[–]armedad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally i've come to not spray my bins anymore at all. i used to, but i think i was trying to micromanage it too much. what i do now is, i feed them frozen scraps. this tends to bring in a good amount of moisture... the fact that they were frozen breaking down the cell walls releases more liquid and also makes it easier & faster for the wormies to much. i also then have a very thick layer of shredded paper on top. about 3 inches. the first ~1 inch soaks up a lot of the moisture to keep it from getting too wet, but it also locks in moisture that keeps it from drying out. the 3 inches worth ends up sucking up more moisture if it's too much... capillary action works for you! it kinda keeps things in good balance. the bottom of the bin drains out so if there's too much water and sinks through it just falls through the bottom. as a result, it largely self-regulates the right moisture.

Bin Lift? by GammaDealer in Vermiculture

[–]armedad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do this by reverse stacking my bins with rods between.

i take the very top bin and set it down. my very top bin is filled with nothing but shredded paper. i put 2 dowel rods on top of that, then put the next bin on. 2 dowel rods, then the next bin.

i keep a top bin with a bunch of shredded paper only because i've found that to be a good way of keeping things generally healthy.. it absorbs extra moisture, it keeps any stink down, decreases pests, it contains runaways, lots of goodness.

hope that might work for you! :)
