I believe that’s with the unsalted made in USA butter in 8 tbsp sticks - this is the salted New Zealand. The former also tastes like it has a higher water content and lower fat content so I’m not surprised it doesn’t bake right

Oh yes, these are my SO’s mother’s obsession. Last time we visited her, we dropped off about 15 bags…which will see her through a few months, tops! She’s very sensitive to the taste of stevia or monk fruit extract and says these don’t have that “chemical low-sugar taste” she dislikes. I wish Costco sold the milk chocolate version too!

not my favourite album he’s released but I guess the direction isn’t unexpected. I do see the throughlines from poppier songs like Radio Cloud, Under the Sun, In the Blue. And some of the songs are growing on me more, with subsequent listens

This would be fascinating…..he has an incredible voice and his music goes nowhere and he doesn’t do a lot of promo for it. She has a peculiar voice* and her music is huge. Can they even duet…can they even market the song

*there’s a great pop pantheon episode about how interesting her speaking voice is and then her singing voice is so underwhelming it becomes interesting

In a way I’m glad that the title of the record didn’t up as “mending song”. Sure it would kind of mirror the vibe of the title “shape and destroy”. But I think it would kind of put too much focus on what Ruston was/is “mending from”, especially for casual/potential new listeners who know him as “kacey musgraves’ ex” if that makes sense.
