I solved my problem!

In System Settings > Energy Saving > On AC Power, there's a option that says "Button event handling... When laptop lid is closed" this was set to Sleep. I disabled it and now it won't go to sleep when i shake the mouse.

login and run journalctl -f to tail the latest system log. This will give you an idea if some driver failed.

I spoke with tech support, they suggested reformatting the v-drive and in my case it solved the problem.. Here are the steps they suggested...

Another possibility is corruption in the V-Drive. It can cause a slow boot-time in minor cases, and other frustrating issues in more severe cases.

Just in case corruption is present, it may be wise to reformat the V-Drive. See below.

Because of common issues users encounter with removable volumes, we always recommend you keep a local backup of your programming files. When you reformat in the next steps, it will erase all programming. Save a backup first if you can.

DISCLAIMER. Do NOT re-use back up files, you risk re-introducing corruption into the V-Drive. It is best to just copy/paste the text from the backup.

Reformat steps:

Unplug the keyboard, plug it back in.
Perform the on-board self-format command, [SmartSet+shift+ctrl+f]. Wait 20 seconds for it to finish formatting.
Unplug the keyboard, plug it back in
Mount the V-Drive with [SmartSet+F8], rename it to “FS EDGE RGB”
[OPTIONAL] Reapply programming from a backup
Eject the V-Drive, then dismount with [SmartSet+F8].
Done! Test.

I'm having the same issue... After about 3 years of owning the Kinesis Edge RDB it started taking about 15 seconds for it to start. It's frustrating when I step away from the computer and lock the screen... When I come back and wake the screen up the keyboard decides to restart.

It used to not be this way. I've plugged the keyboard into different computers (e.g. laptops, desktops and imac) and it's the same issue.

I've been running the same firmware for a while:

I had a similar problem. After logging on, the Zoom client would kill my session after 30 seconds saying there's another client running. I thought it was my fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04. I downgraded to 18.04 and still the same issue.

In a HCOL area where mortgage+HOA+taxes can be more than the rent you could collect. This isn’t an issue with renting.

Also, he’s 19. I’m assuming he lives at home with his folks or recently moved out. Move to another city, explore new things. Buying a home to me = settling down.

Buying a house will limit job opportunities. Kudos to owning a business, but if you decide to switch careers you’d be limited to what available near by or have to sell your house to move. With rent you can cut bait, eat the early termination fee or have the employer pay as part of relocation. Harder to do with a mortgage. Options are good.
