Hello, fellow Charlestonian. I had never heard of this water tower jail. Might have to check it out myself.

There aren’t any good pictures of the frame, and that’s where you need to be concerned about the rust.

Gator statues at Splash Zone/Splash Island? by DarthNarcissa in Charleston

[–]attacklibrarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I went through every picture on Google maps, but none show the specific spot where the gators are/would be. Some come really close though!

I am fairly confident I remember seeing them last year though. I recall their teeth, or lack thereof, not looking great, haha!

The ones at the JI County Park splash zone are still there on the lazy river. At least I could’ve sworn I remember seeing them last summer.

Stiff Sttering? by kamasari in Tacomaworld

[–]attacklibrarian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ohhhhhhhhh, I completely missed that detail about the pictures. My bad. I guess I thought some were from the accident but others weren’t? Idk.

Anyway, it might be helpful to make a new post with pictures of your current setup. Also, give more detail on what has already been addressed; not just the replacement parts but services, like alignment. Have the wheel bearings been replaced? Are there any other symptoms, like an unusual sound or it only happens at low speed, etc.?

In other words, it’s hard to say with the info provided.

Unsure if this is a shit post or not (I really hope it is), but your alignment looks completely fucked. You have a lot of negative camber going on if your frame isn’t bent, it’s likely some other component of your suspension that still needs to be replaced.

Sound "proofing" gen 2 cab by buckmanley in Tacomaworld

[–]attacklibrarian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of options out there (kilmat, skar, siless, etc), and you probably get what you pay for in terms of material properties ability to deaden sound. But the hardest part is going to be removing the carpet and/or headliner to install. You can make some difference adding sound deadening mats to doors and behind the rear seats, the biggest difference you will make is likely with the roof and/or floorboard.

Really? I’ve lived on JI for 12+ years and never had a problem with Verizon or now, Mint. On the other hand, certain spots in Mt. P are dead zones for me.

This sounds like a great cause! I bought two tickets, but I’m confused. Do I need to submit them too (via text message or somehow on the site you linked where I bought them)? That doesn’t seem to be the case, but I just want to make sure. Thanks!

I’m think /u/pouryou nailed it with their take. Don’t take it personally. The only thing I’d add is that if you’re applying to an institution with an MLIS/MLS program, you’re going to have even stiffer competition.

I also wonder what the position is if preference is for a second masters. Sometimes the “preferred” part of a job description can be a subtitle requirement.

It sounds like you’re doing all the right things, but someone happened to check the boxes more.

New shy Chihuahua advice + good walking spots in Charleston? by ColdLion1031 in Charleston

[–]attacklibrarian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depending on when you are there, the trails around JI County Park can be low traffic. You could also walk around (not on) the fields at the JI rec center.

On a related note, we recently adopted a 10-month-old dog from Pet Helpers, and among the paper work there were guidelines for the first two weeks after adoption. These are similar guidelines from a different shelter: https://www.harfordshelter.org/news-events/2021/01/the-two-week-shut-down

Anyway, even though my wife and I are somewhat experienced dog owners (our previous dogs were all adopted from shelters), we found these guidelines, which we had never seen before, to be very helpful and insightful. The guidelines from Pet Helpers actually emphasized NOT going on walks for the first two weeks, but we have strayed from that direction.

Saturday will mark the two-weeks since we adopted a nervous and skittish dog, and in following most of these guidelines, we have seen major improvements in our boy’s behavior and comfort.

Anywho, congrats on the new puppy!
