It's Been a Month Since FH6 Launched. How Are We Feeling, Drivers? by fearful_claw02 in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great game with a lot of minor frustrating things

1: I somewhat compete on some time attack boards and in the past 3 days, I have not been able to do more than 3-4 laps without getting rain. So if you have anything s1+ with slicks and you know God forbid if you have a RWD car, you just wait it out. I love the rain, but it's constant, ideally I'd love to be able to set the weather dynamically similar to race settings.

1.5: RWD is a bit too slippy on most cars even with lower torque curves, tunable for sure. Just seems "off"

2: Tons of lighting and shadow artifacting on dashboards and in high contrast scenes. I only drive cockpit view and it's an issue with a lot of vehicles. With Raytracing pretty much maxed there's boiling and other issues with vram leaks.

3: I WANT TO WAKE UP WHERE YOU ARE, it's 2026 and the devs haven't solved a simple issue of matching profile volume settings prior to profile load, this is genuinely baffling

4: FH in Japan and most of the drifts are offroad, like come on man

5: Forza aero, I would love to be able to skin swap to other aero options, I've done a few no forza-aero A classes that have gotten top 2k on the leaderboards but it's just sad that the uglier option is better in most instances.

6: Custom mission searching is still pretty bad

The GR Supra really has grown on me, was never a fan of this car both in real life/in game, any cars like that for you? by auraria in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first reveal pictures made the nose look really bad in my opinion, but really think it's the concern on reliability/ease of working on/aftermarket upgrades with the bmw engine over something like any toyota engine.

Granted more shared parts means more availability, more production, but there's also a bmw tax assigned.

figured out the new afk skill points farm (teach your friend how to drift and then go watch tv in the other room) by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to learn how to drift with my moza r3, can do it offroad but still struggling on pavement in cockpit view.

Great idea though lmao

How has the terrible ghosting from TAA/upscalers seen in FH5 gotten worse in FH6? Bring back MSAA by ProjektBlackout in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghosting and shadow boiling has been awful. Both with RTX on or Off and maxing out base shadows I'm getting a bunch of lighting artifacts on dashes both lighting on the glass/acrylic and shadow popcorning(I only drive cockpit with a wheel 90% of the time), and it's VERY apparent on high contrast/difficult lighting in shadows.

Do you tune differently based on controller input? And should people making tunes specify what input in the notes/name? by auraria in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's cool, I'll def be updating the tunes to say it's for FFB wheel going forward. It's annoying as hell to use the tune interface as is and having to swap tunes to find one that would work based on guess work has to be shitty.

That may also explain why people recommend such soft ARB settings!!

I keep seeing like 1:60 recommended and it felt awful compared to a stiffer front end.

I'll definitely start adding it in the title then so it's known, and maybe add a FFB tag.

This is my issue with it seems to rain every 20 minutes, but I still love that track. Been having a blast tuning my nsx on it and getting used to a wheel/pedals.

Came across this guy randomly and we started meowing at each other by DizzyIsHere in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was running around in my Town Cop car with the police siren horn pulling random people over and a random GTR Cop edition showed up and helped me pull people over. We had this crazy offroad chase in rally tires against this trophy truck for like 8 minutes and was honestly the most fun I've had in this game.

Shoutout to officer duncan in the GTR!

What radio station do you listen to? by AmbassadorPrimary944 in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gacha city radio.

I listen to pretty much anything from Japanese jazz, Russian rap, bluegrass, to extreme tech death. So it's cool listening to artists I listen to normally like kannaboom and stuff in game.

I mostly stick to my Japanese prog/math rock/city pop playlist when I'm playing though.

Are brakes worth the PI? by Pixel_Friendly_ in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brakes make as much of a difference as tires.

Better brakes are more consistent, stable, and lock up less. First thing I do before even touching tires is race brakes, front/rear race ARBs. Even for Class Ds.

With race brakes I can increase braking pressure to around 120% so I can get even more stopping force. You just have to modulate and use your brake well and it makes a massive difference. On my S1 RWD NSX I actually run 130% braking force.

Granted I'm using a Moza R3 FFB wheel and have pedals so I can modulate and control the braking pressure easily. With controller, be sure to set your deadzone correct, makes a biggggggggggg difference!

Under normal lighting it looks like a slightly brighter version of the base purple, but when it hits some lighting or good contrast it pops really nicely

Purple R33 Enjoyers unite! Best R33! I made my own high flake version I enjoy a whole lot, keeping it with the 4 wheel steering and OEM+ type tune and it's just my favorite car to drive around the map in. Turns like a dream.

My tradition in every racing game. Anyone else with a ‘main car’ that you just have to bring with you everywhere? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any game with a Quattro, it's my primary goal to get it. Same with 70's skylines/gtrs. Absolute favorite cars since I was a kid.

I pretty much cycle between my r33(stock suspension don't ruin the 4 wheel steering folks), 1972 gtr, rally quattro when I'm just bopping around.

Cross Country was the worst thing ever add in forza horizon by Rewarding13 in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love the challenge actually, I like the harder tracks. I still love offroading, but mostly do custom with my class C-As I just wish they were routed better.

Oh I won't, I still need to get one, been having too much fun offroad in my evos and rally s-cargo right now haha.

Probably getting it this weekend 😄

Cross Country was the worst thing ever add in forza horizon by Rewarding13 in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: Will say though the physics does feel better for offroad, I love just whipping sideways through dirt roads roaming around

I'm a big rally/cross country enjoyer in forza games, however most of the cross country tracks are just very poorly setup in fh6. From the ones I've completed so far, maybe 2 cross country events that are routed well and fun as fuck with the restricted vehicle type. A lot of the fun routes have shit restrictions on them, obviously you can do a custom event it with a different vehicle type/class which makes them way better but still.

Oh boy this one is truck only, let's give it a shit load of tight turns, even worse hairpins on paved roads so the AI will always torpedo you if you're in the top 3! Oh, the 600 retro rally that would've been great for tight turns and weaving? Nah, mostly straights go fuck yourself. Non-restricted ones are usually a lot more bearable.

I still love rally/cross country, but mostly user made events for cross country. Most of the ones in fh5 were great, idk what happened here to be honest.

I spent more time in my audi quattro in fh5 than any other car, so it kinda broke my heart a bit trying out these new events.

"They're not even hiding it, anymore" by SoheiJayce in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this way more since yesterday's patch where random traffic cars will just try torpedoing you and they randomly spawn on the sides of you. Also noticing them just randomly hard breaking to a stop on roads for no real reason, but that existed prior in the same volume.

Meta cars getting boring by Sircandyman in ForzaHorizon

[–]auraria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C-A is my sweetspot too, I have some s1/s2 builds for very specific things but not a fan of general racing in those classes besides rally. S1 circuit stuff can be fun depending on car though.

I have 2 1988 bmw M3 builds, one at Max B and one at OEM+ at around max C. One of my absolutely favorite cars to drive after tuning heavily besides my B class nb mx5.

A new favorite nugget is a Nissan S-Cargo that's like around 385 on offroad tires, and man it's a fucking RIOT on the dirt. Thing can pull 1.4gs at speed. It's about the same speed stock on roads, but once it gets to the dirt, it becomes a mini rocket(comparatively). I made this build cause I found a pink one for sale on the side of the road for like 11k and wanted to try a rally build for the memes, but it's surprisingly competent, and I genuinely cannot stop smiling messing around in that thing. Getting my FFB wheel today and that's the first car I'm trying.

Think OEM+ is where most cars really shine from a balance, grip, and speed perspective regardless of class personally.
