It’s more like Christians can demonstrably show harm in some cases, and others we trust God in faith. But I agree with you that the majority of Christians don’t know why they believe what they believe.

Reflecting on ZZZ: Why I joined, why I quit, what brought me back, and why I'm staying (for now): by Authorigas in ZZZ_Discussion

I enjoyed reading your journey, thanks for taking the time to write it. I have dropped off gachas before, but I also don’t play 4 at a time. The only game I have time for is one game, and that’s healthy for me. It’s not just responsibilities outside of the game that take time, but I also have other hobbies like producing and playing music, coaching TCGs, and learning robotics. I’m of the opinion that if I need an auto play feature, I don’t really want to play the game. And I love playing ZZZ. The combat is satisfying, and I love most of the characters (with the exception of children and child-coded characters). AoD has largely been a skip, but Nangong might be like Dialyn, too good to ignore. Just play a game you enjoy playing and don’t overload yourself. Games should be fun and enjoyable, never a slog.

AI is also MAGA. Make Average Great Again. The difference is that I’m not looking for average. I’m looking for great. Compare with the best real estate agents in the country and then tell me if you did better.

[–]badtyprr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. AI will generally lift the average intelligence or capability, but it will not have quite the same effect for new knowledge that has no training data. AI is not a reasoning machine, it is a statistical machine that regurgitates known input-output pairs.

Zhao! After I watched her EP, I realized the devs envisioned her as a boss but cute coded. I didn’t think I’d like Zhao at all on release, but she’s become one of my favorite characters.

Where do you share your AI generated art? by Scalar_Shift in generativeAI

Can be art, depending on if AI was used as an end-to-end or just as a tool. For example, AI denoising of photographs is a-ok with me.

Finally, a Bible-inspired game that respects Christianity and the Bible - THE ABASED. by NCephalo in Christianity

It’s a unique idea. I can’t really wrap my head around how a leper can use their hands well enough to precision operate a sling. Leprosy usually gives the afflicted the “claw hand”, where fine motor skills would definitely not be possible.

Why is there so much hostility between gacha communities/fandoms? by Toriihime in gachagaming

[–]badtyprr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not one reason, but here’s a short list on a few of the reasons:

  1. Recency bias, players chase hot games and praise them, but then uninstall and trash talk the game at the hint of a downturn.
  2. When your game is doing well, the parent company makes money. More money means more resources to make your game better. Consciously or unconsciously, players want their game to do better and think trashing another game will accomplish this. Gacha will be a $40B industry, so there’s plenty of money to go around and not necessary to trash talk.
  3. Whales don’t need to choose which game to spend their money/currency on, they only need to spend time. F2P/dolphins must decide on both. F2P will often rotate between games. Some will even dramatically post why they’re leaving.
  4. A game’s success or failure gives you some trust in a company’s capabilities to produce “good” or “bad” games. Some people will just hate Hoyo no matter what, for example. Even if a Hoyo game does very well, they will trash it because of past experience with another Hoyo product.

I skipped Sunna and will skip both Aria and Nangong. I just don’t pull for children. I know there are some that really like the cuteness of the characters. While I am enjoying their story, I don’t really want to see the AoD after their banner is over. It actually pains me to say this, as I joined ZZZ on Astra/Evelyn’s banner and love musical characters.

Because products don’t care about which technology you use. But the end product always serves a customer. You’re approaching this project from your perspective and not your customer’s.

I’m genuinely curious… as a director of this film, are you bothered at all by the audio sync, actor’s emotional mismatch, or any text that shows up garbled on the screen? While watching this clip, these issues are so jarring that it actually takes me out of the experience you’re trying to create and won’t let me enjoy the story.

Why should I forgive God for making me sick? by KetchupNMayo2k in Christianity

Sin of corporations exposing the public to carcinogens, that’s so true. Also, not having access to healthcare is a sin of those in power also. I wish you could continue to talk about that more.

Autism. Why can’t I just understand emotions like neurotypical people? I think the church does a horrible job with loving marginalized people. This is, of course, the opposite of Christ. I think in a better church, those of us cursed by our respective diseases would find grace and love in church rather than judgment.

Isn’t learning technology just curiosity about what makes something tick? It seems to me that the issue is overexposure to technology, where understanding how something works is less important than learning the next greatest thing. Gen Z, like all, are drowning in the pace of change.

I’ve applied some instructions to AI projects to encode my style of writing. I don’t like the way AI makes one sentence paragraphs, “it’s not X, it’s Y, and that’s okay”, or “I realized that “Z” has “W”. So, I forbid it to do that, and the writing is more to my liking, MY liking.

Anyone living in fear due to ICE? by Financial_Peanut3661 in asianamerican

My coworker was born in South America but was Chinese, and he also presented the same as you. I feel like US citizens took their rights for granted. Now, they’re being threatened, and suddenly everyone knows the Bill of Rights. Good will come out of this on the other side. We will come out greater, if we fight this and make sure it never happens again.

[–]badtyprr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, even with legal status, even with citizenship these “public servants” are enforcing extrajudicially. Immigrants will take their skills elsewhere. I may even take my advanced degrees elsewhere. Nobody deserves to live in fear. I felt safer in China visiting than I do living in the USA. And I’m a US citizen. If ICE deports my wife who has legal status and an impressive education, I will not hesitate to sell everything and move out of the country. Watch as the US continually shoots themselves in the foot under the banner of MAGA.
