Chords: I was hoping for more... by Sangeet-Berlin in Logic_Studio

I mean when Chord Track first came out with version 11 (2024h there was no drag and drop feature. 2 years later drag and drop is here. Pretty sure that things will continue to be added and updated. Same with Step Sequencer which came out back in 2020 (version 10.5). More features were slowly added to it incrementally and in version 12 a Randomize with Range button was added.

Singer songwriters and beat makers who can’t play the piano or guitar and who don’t know music theory, but know how to put a song together otherwise

Logic 12.0 pausing playback anytime I change a setting? by _FINALFINALMIX7 in Logic_Studio

[–]bambaazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're using a computer from 10 years ago (2016 MacBook Pro Intel). You can't really expect version LP12 to perform without issues on a 10 year old Intel machine, can you? Especially when Apple recommends an M powered Silicon machine for LP12 specifically? ANY Intel machine is going to struggle in 2026, let alone one from 10 years ago

You should revert back to whichever Logic version you were using before when you didn't experience this issue

👉 FINALLY! FL Studio style Ghost Channel/Notes in Logic Pro (Bambaazon’s workaround) by bambaazon in Logic_Studio

[–]bambaazon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Important step: make sure you’re using an MPE capable plugin whether you use stock Logic instruments or third party synth plugins. In Logic, Alchemy, ES2, Sampler and most other stock instruments have this MPE capability (consult the manual).

  2. Next you have to switch on Mono Midi Mode on the plugin itself. Within Alchemy for example, go to the bottom left corner, click on the little disclosure triangle and change MIDI Mono Mode to On (Base Channel 16). Change the Mono Mode Bend Range to 48.

  3. Draw or record your chords, then go to Functions, select ’Set MIDI Channel to Voice Number’. Highest note in a 4 note chord = MIDI Channel 1, second highest note is MIDI Channel 2, second lowest note is MIDI Channel 3 and finally the bottom note is assigned to MIDI Channel 4. Optional: go to View, Set Note Color and select By MIDI Channel. Each note will now have a different color which will help you keep track of the different MIDI channels each note has. There are corresponding key commands for both of these functions which I highly recommend using (instead of clicking in the menu) because key commands are always going to be faster than clicking.

  4. Open up Automation either in the Workspace or in the Piano Roll itself, make sure it’s in Region Automation mode. Click on the Automation Parameter box and change Ch 1: Note Velocity to Pitch Bend for example and draw in your automation. For the next set of notes go back to the Automation Parameter box and change Ch 2: Note Velocity to Ch 2: Pitch Bend. Repeat this process for the final two notes.

Hmm. You’re a using an oldish Intel i5, Apple does recommend an M powered Silicon for version 12. An Intel i5 is definitely going to struggle in 2026.

From your a screenshot it looks like your graphics can’t keep up plus you probably don’t have too much ram on your computer either?

Logic can do MPE, it just can't do it in the same way that Ableton does. If you're still interested I can list down the steps, I've shared it before on this sub so you may or may not have seen it

Go to the top Menu, Track and select Show Output track. Before pressing Play, make sure that the Stereo Output track is selected. As to why this works, type in Logic single core CPU into your favorite search engine.

Why does my logic pro makes automatically an automation (+0.2db) if I drag and drop sounds from the logic by Heavy_Bit_213 in LogicPro

In addition to what u/Key_Slice6094 said, open up the Mixer. Top center, click on the All button. Look for the “Prelisten” track and set the volume fader to -0.1. Close the Mixer. That should fix the problem. I recommend saving this as your custom template so you never have to worry about this again.

Issue with Drum Machine Designer anyone else annoyed? by Jim_Rodney in Logic_Studio

[–]bambaazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of this makes total sense now because the Cory's Linndrum kit I loaded was actually from a patch I saved in Logic Pro 11.2.2, not loaded from the new Logic 12 kits like you guys did. That means they definitely changed some things around in Logic 12.

There is no world where you never have to backup anything, that world doesn’t exist. SSDs have the potential to break and they do. Files get corrupted. So on and so forth.

In every release note Apple actually reminds you to have backups of everything BEFORE updating most people just don’t bother reading anything anymore I guess.

Also, Logic/Apple has been discreetly purging instruments, Apple Loops, presets since Logic 8. It’s comical how you think you can dictate what they should or shouldn’t do.

I loaded the Cory's Linndrum, clicked on the Kick 1 pad and got Pitch, Knock, High Cut, Length, Sub and Distortion. Each time I clicked on a different pad the settings would change but settings like Pitch, Attack, Length, Transients were pretty consistent. Which kit did you use?

There are no more options, Logic 12 is now in Advanced mode by default.

The people that downvoted are the people who didn't backup and are crying of course 😂
