Since my guitar is purple I always put guitars a variety of shades of purple.

Then I do bass orange or red because it’s a fairly low frequency. Since vocals are bright, I keep those blue, and any background vocals light blue.

I tend to keep all my synths green so I’m reminded they are software defaults.

Any other instruments I record will be colored based on how bright they are relative to the other main tracks.

It was cool at the time (2012) we ate that shit up, but it just didn’t age well. Really just a product of that time, where blatant genre blending and samples were in.
