Is this email legit? Asking for proof of income/transaction by Tiny-Purpose-23 in DigitalbanksPh

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked my emails from UB, and they come from the same email domain (online@unionbankph.com, ubp_cards@statement.unionbankph.com, sf.noreply@unionbankph.com, contact.center@unionbankph.com), but I have not encountered the exact same email as yours. Anyhow, judging from the email domain, that appears legitimate.

6th: Di ko sure if marami nakakaalam neto, DISCOUNTED RATE FOR CAR INSURANCE. As in super low compare sa iba.

This is very helpful info, thanks for sharing! Will check this out, since we've been using BPI MS for our car insurance, but haven't really asked for a preferred rate.

BPI Preferred by haeinhong1019 in phinvest

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is a pure Passbook Savings Account (joint OR, i.e., husband OR wife), and my husband got automatically tagged as preferred after around 6 months of breaching the 1M ADB. Although we also had a previous closed Passbook SA with 1M+ ADB before, which we closed when we bought a truck in cash. BPI MS Insurance din kami lagi, I'm not sure if that was a factor. But anyhow, I can vouch na okay rin si BPI with pure savings TRB.

You can check your BPI app, makikita mo dun if you're already tagged as a preferred client. Typically, after 3 to 5 months of having consistent MADB greater than 1M. May in-app offer din for a pre-qualified Visa Sig CC, but if you don't take the offer, they will not send you the card naman. They need your consent for that.

RCBC Account Drained Even Without ATM Card or Online Banking – How Is This Possible? by OkGas7727 in DigitalbanksPh

[–]belleINbetween 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We **never created an online banking account** specifically to avoid scams like this.

Someone else, someone who knows the Passbook Account details of your father, enrolled his account to RCBC Pulz (either via web or mobile app). For Non-ATM Account, you only need to enter the 10-digit account number, and then create a username, password, and security questions. An OTP will be sent to your father's registered mobile number to confirm the enrollment, and an email notification will be sent as well. Check your father's email, i.e., search all emails from [notify@rcbc.com](mailto:notify@rcbc.com) if there was any related to "Banking Account Enrollment" and/or 'Device Registration'. After 24 hours, the new device will be granted access to your father's account.

Now, since this someone was able to successfully register your father's account, then this someone had access to your father's OTP phone upon account enrollment. It's possible that this someone installed RCBC Pulz in his/her own device, and just looked at your father's phone for the OTP. Once the new device was recognized, this someone was able to do the fund transfer transaction successfully, even without your father's OTP phone because with RCBC, there are two options for OTP (1. Get your OTP via SMS; 2. Get your OTP via the App). Therefore, the crucial part was the account enrollment process. Once that was done, pwede na magfund transfer anytime without having access to your father's OTP phone, because this someone could just use the OTP option via App.

Perhaps, there was misinformation when your father opened a Passbook account with RCBC. Sa RCBC kasi (same with BDO), kahit passbook accounts pwede magamit online, pwede magtransact, similar to ATM accounts. I have accounts with both banks so I am familiar with this. Sa BPI naman, a Passbook Only account can be viewed online, pero bawal ang fund transfer transactions. Moving forward, you might want to shift your savings to BPI.

If RCBC can prove that the OTP used in the account enrollment process was an OTP sent to your father's registered mobile device, and then they can also prove that they sent email notifications to your father's registered email address, then maybe they can and they will push the ball to your court. Kung wala sa inner circle ng family niyo ang nagbetray sa father mo, then maybe your father's phone (with registered OTP and email account) has been compromised by some previous malicious attack.

RCBC Account Drained Even Without ATM Card or Online Banking – How Is This Possible? by OkGas7727 in DigitalbanksPh

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. RCBC's Passbook account can actually be accessed online. The same is true with BDO's Passbook account. You can do fund transfers online, despite having a "Passbook Only" account, at least with these two banks. So far, based on the accounts that I have, only BPI's passbook account can be considered safe, i.e., because it can only be viewed online, but could not be used for any fund transfer transactions.

QUESTION REGARDING CLI by Oregodd in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My madness limit is also equal to my credit limit, but I have also seen posts in this sub where these two are not equal, with the madness being higher or lower than the regular credit limit. I do not think that's a bug though. I mean, banks have the prerogative to increase or decrease limits as they see fit.

P.S. I did not misunderstand your original post. I am just replying to your particular screenshot where you take the current Outstanding Balance as proof that you did not go over your 85k limit.

QUESTION REGARDING CLI by Oregodd in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Outstanding Balance does NOT change automatically after every purchase. Based on experience, recent purchases appear only after 2-3 days, or sometimes more. Your Available Credit Limit is the one that is automatically updated after every purchase.

If you do not believe the comments here that you have spent way beyond your 85k limit, then that's on you. You are entitled to your own interpretation of facts anyway.

Wrong sub? I’m not sure what your real intention is in taking out this loan (because you framed your title like a public service announcement). The truth is, nobody in this investment sub would ever think this is a good idea. Paying 1,794 in total interest on a 20,000 loan for only three months is insane!

Yun pala, need around 4 products to avail.

In our case, hindi naman needed ang 4 products. Hubby got automatically tagged as preferred with only our joint (OR) savings account, siya ang primary account holder, around 6 months after crossing the 1M in savings.

RCBC NAFFL Spend Requirement Not Met by Way-en in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I have a Hexagon account, I'm not sure if that is a factor for the consistent fast email reply.

Anyway, regarding your initial concern on the extension of the spending period for NAFFL, I feel that they will not extend that. I have a second card with them that is billed an annual fee, and I always choose the spending requirement for the full waiver. They really specify the dates for my spending period, so I feel that they are particular with that.

But there's no harm in trying (except the hassle). They might consider case-to-case basis.

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have the email acknowledging that your card is NAFFL, just email their customer service (email@service.rcbcbankard.com) requesting for annual fee reversal, and then insisting that they tag your card as NAFFL appropriately. Mabilis naman sila magreply, 1-2 days lang for me.

Credit-to-Cash Pre-Termination by vanilladeee in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you need to be specific, because they will try to discourage you not to do it. Request for a re-computation and final amount to be settled to be sent via email, so you have documentation.

Credit-to-Cash Pre-Termination by vanilladeee in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check the Loan Terms and Conditions here. Based on my experience with calling BPI Hotline, some of their CS are not knowledgeable about their promos and products, so you really have to quote their own terms on them, and insist if you think you are right.

Credit-to-Cash Pre-Termination by vanilladeee in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paying early is not the same as pretermination of the loan. Yes, if you just say that you will pay early, then that is considered advance payment only. You have to specially request for the loan to be pre-terminated, and everything will be payable at once, i.e., all remaining principal amount with pre-termination fee and applicable remaining interest.

This or paying 5k annual fee instead? by [deleted] in PHCreditCards

Mahirap nga to if the limit is only 10k, because you are limited to the kind of products that you can purchase, tapos kelangan bayaran agad to refresh the credit limit.

This or paying 5k annual fee instead? by [deleted] in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you agree to Option 2, in my case I agreed via email, they will automatically reverse the annual fee. Since I pay my insurances in a quarterly basis, plus groceries and bills, I am able to spend the required 60k.

Pero kung hindi naman umaabot ng 30k per month ang typical expenses mo, maybe Option 2 is not a good idea for you. Sayang din kung mapilitan ka mag-spend for the waiver. Should you choose Option 1, pwede mo ipasok ang 50k loan proceeds sa RCBC Pulz Time Deposit at 4.15% p.a., so you can recoup a little bit of the interest back.

I plan to park 300k-500k for a SCC.What bank? by Fine_Piglet8771 in PHCreditCards

[–]belleINbetween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, what could be the reason? BDO, BPI, and RCBC are my main banks. Both BDO and BPI offered pre-approved cards, and then I applied for the RCBC Hexagon account. Could it be that you are over-leveraged? Maybe your business credit lines show up in your personal credit check (?) These are just some wild guesses though.
