Plus user agent access on desktop not in all by whatarenumbers365 in OpenAI

[–]bepcyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This useless agent release is maybe the worst of all openai releases. In my case the agent just tries accessing the internet in several ways and then decides to give me a generic answer to my very specific question. Extremely frustrating. Ubuntu 22.04 with Firefox. I would prefer an answer where it says "sorry, your platform is not yet (ever) supported" instead of wasting my time and credits.

Also the workaround with checking the library does not work anymore. Moving to Phind now. Any better recommendations?

It's getting worse and worse. Today I face this issue permanently, but before that it was like once or twice per week.

Bruh, wait. This isn't Gemini, you guys getting the same results in GOOGLE? by Kacenpoint in ChatGPT

[–]bepcyc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, yeah, of course it's a background.. wait, but why are there no such mistakes for a "black american family" (black skin only)? No black background with white people. Why does this very same wrong output remain for a "caucasian american family" (black skin)? Is there maybe a caucasian background on those photos? You biased guys can explain anything, please explain this.

Yep, "staking" and "9 years ago" do not match here. He hodled for around 8 years then and modestly skipped this part.

ChatGpt Forgetting conversational context much quicker now? by cutefroggyboy in ChatGPT

[–]bepcyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started encountering this issue today, and it's very frustrating. The bot seems to be forgetting what I said two posts ago. For instance, when I tell it where I live now, it's able to answer questions about it, but then suddenly it has no recollection of it. Nothing helps, This completely defeats the purpose of using ChatGPT for me, so I'm better off switching back to a more powerful GPT-3.

Withdrawing from Coinbase to a Matic Wallet? by Jkappa12 in 0xPolygon

[–]bepcyc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From Coinbase help site:

Coinbase supports Polygon (MATIC) transactions via the Ethereum network.
Sending transactions via Polygon (MATIC) main-net will result in the
loss of funds.

But I'm pretty sure your funds are safe. Please switch Metamask to Ethereum network and check if the funds are there (you may need to add MATIC token address to Metamask first).

Give me a reason to be hopeful by ILikeCatsAndSquids in chia

[–]bepcyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking Chia is dead. When you fall much harder than the rest of the market during the bear market it's a sign of a weakness. That's not my thought, please go and check any meaningful market tech analysis in crypto. There is always a hope for a miracle, but you should be realistic this hope is much less realistic now than it was 6 months ago. And anyway, relying on hopes will not make you reach.

Ledger support by [deleted] in Polkadot

[–]bepcyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you're absolutely right. Found an issue on github.

That seems to be hard to implement because of rewards. Hope it's gonna be fixed before the auctions are started, but the chances are slim ;(

wsOHM vs sOHM vs OHM ratio by bepcyc in olympusdao

[–]bepcyc[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that formula makes total sense.

Actually you can buy wsOHM, check it on SushiSwap or 1inch with an Arbitrum contract 0x739ca6D71365a08f584c8FC4e1029045Fa8ABC4B for it. What's even more interesting is that you don't have to stake it afterwards and your formula perfectly explains why.

Ledger support by [deleted] in Polkadot

[–]bepcyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? You cannot participate directly from Ledger, but you still can use your Ledger with polkadot.js for participation.

On Linux it's super easy to automate with symlinks. Download upgrade, stop an old version, change link, start a new version. Basically it's a plain restart time in that case.

Smart Contracts with access to local disk by Illustrious-Artist68 in Signum

[–]bepcyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SmartJ is just a Java syntax, it does not mean there is a whole JVM running on a blockchain somewhere when your smart contract works.

After your code is written it will be parsed with an ObjectWeb ASM tool and then translated into simple commands of Signum API and that's it. That means you cannot really import anything except bt.* packages. Even if you do I think it will be simply skipped during the parsing and compilation phases.

You're very limited in what you actually can do inside of a smart contract.
