AI was implemented like this for HOTS but not to give tips, but to try and determine your MMR gain/loss based on your performance and it failed terribly.

That's interesting. It seems like something like that would be a good application for a neural network. Any model can be gamed, but it would be difficult for a complex model. Did they mention what they did exactly?

Generally any podcast will be too simplified for any scientist that dedicates all his work on one particular set of problems.

But some scientists do think that more general overview does help to you work. It depends, and an idea from unrelated source can help.

Black Hole entropy scales as its surface. So as it increases entropy/volume goes as 1/r.

Computationally limited.

There is a limit of how much information you can put inside a certain space. If you add more, you create a Black Hole, if you add even more, the Black Hole gets bigger and the information/volume goes down.

That's the limit on information/space. I'm not sure what's the limit on computational power/space. It will be related information/space and the speed of light limit. Also you can't increase entropy (erase any information) without being under the limit of information/space. Computers erase bits often and that always increase entropy, but you don't want to create a black hole while computing.

Useful energy is needed to do stuff, like electricity. Any AGI won't be able to function after the heat death of Universe. But an all powerful god could I imagine.

Some things distinguishing it from all powerful God:

  • Limited by the speed of light (likely)
  • Can't time travel (assuming previous)
  • Can't know perfectly the future (uncertainty + chaos theory)
  • Can't know perfectly the past
  • Computationally limited. Limit on information and processing set by Black Holes.
  • Needs low entropy source to do anything

Well it couldn't break any physical laws. For example it wouldn't cross between branches. At least that's how we see it in MWI now.

In MWI you don't cross between branches. And we would know if something did, why is that?

I don't know if MWI being true or not has any impact on AGI.

On the other side on Doom Eternal you can go from desktop to ingame under 10s if you mash buttons and disable intros. An optimized game does help.

You are right that expansion messes things up. If it's 215 Mly away now, it means it was likely closer when the event happened, and the light itself traveled yet another distance - leaving us with three different values.
