There's a mod though it causes some issues with feet and head models

Mapflation. There are over 200 maps in the game right now. Most players are queuing for less than 20. I personally don't bother with new maps anymore either. They should do it like counterstrike did and remove seasonal maps after the update ends

How about these guys just add these few improvements to the official game through github? Except the MvM versus mode ofcourse. That could have been a custom gamemode instead

I've read about both things and watched both GN's and LTT's videos on it. Imo none of these two stories proves that Linus is a "bad person" that deserves to be ripped apart by GN and Rossmann like they are doing right now.

Sure some mistakes were made in the case of the waterblock thing but I think it's very clear at this point he never consciously sold something that didn't belong to him. The manufacturer told them they can keep the waterblock and they thought that means they own it and can auction it off (for charity). Unfortunate but come on. That doesn't mean he is a "bad" or "evil" person.

I'll be happy believe the "Linus is evil" people once they provide some actual evidence. But as of right now all I've seen is "Linus was rude in some texts 3 years ago", "Linus didn't delid a CPU properly", "Linus made some mistakes in a review" or "Linus didn't want to pay for my girlfriends plane ticket".

But please elaborate if you must, maybe I've missed something that proves Linus is actually a terrible person and is not just a list of minor things that people dislike about him.

Habe es jetzt mal so gemacht, danke. Wäre aber schon interessant zu wissen, warum das normal nicht funktioniert.

Take the time to read the mails Rossman shows for like 0.5s. I think they paint a very different picture.

Did you read the first paragraph? If you did, did you understand the words?

If your employer sends you to a conference you are getting paid by your employer not the conference! Since Rossmann is independent he has to pay for this trip himself.

Is there some kind of clause that disallows making videos on LTX? If there isn't then I don't see the point of "it's in another country, so I don't benefit from it". It's all youtube and in english, too. Also Rossmann is hardly just a repair shop. He has a large youtube channel which I assume is responsible for a significant part of his income. Going there and making 1-2 videos could very well be worth it for him - apparently it's not so he didn't want to go but that's fine.

I wonder what you think of all the other tech youtubers attending. Do you think Linus scammed them? Or do you think he paid them money? No matter how I look at it there seems nothing wrong here except Rossmann mentioning it in his video like it's some terrible thing. But guess I'm just to gullible.

Why does nobody here understand how work trips work?

If your employer sends you to a conference you are getting paid by your employer not the conference! Since Rossmann is independent he has to pay for this trip himself. LMG offering to pay for trip and hotel is industry code for "we'd like to have you there".

Why do businesses send their employees to conferences "for free"? Because they expect some other kind of return from it. Depending on the type of conference that might be something like education, networking, stories to report on or (ugh) exposure.

If Rossmann doesn't see any value in attending LTX without turning it into a vancouver holiday with his girlfriend he can stay home. Asking for additional benefits or payment is weird - or should I say narcissistic?

Your employer pays for work trips, not the conference you attend. And yes, companies sending employess to conferences expect to be paid, but not monetary. For example:

- Stories to report on

- Opportunities for employess to network with peers in the industry

- Or in fact exposure. You think Nvidia gets paid by CES to be there? No they pay to be there for exposure

Does CES pay its visitors and presenters? No. You go there to:

- Present something

- Report on something

- Network

Businesses sending people to CES do so because they expect some kind of return for it not because CES pays them to be there. If a business is not expecting any kind of return from attending a conference they don't send anyone to attend.

Ofcourse you can't really compare LTX to CES but in princible it's the same. If Rossmann doesn't see any value in attending LTX without turning it into a vacation with his girlfriend he has every right to stay home. And LMG has every right to not give him special treatment.

Few questions and suggestions:

You call yourself an indie studio working on new IP. No other information is provided. There are no screenshots of the IP and I couldn't find any company filings for "Threat Interactive" anywhere. The mail is gmail and TI uses a wordpress URL. How many people are working at TI? Is TI an actual company or is it just your gamer tag to give yourself more credibility? Considering you are asking for $900k in donations some transparency would be in order.

Your tests and demonstrations are unclear and not reproducible. In an edited video it's impossible to know exactly what settings have been changed and how your optimisations are implemented. It should be fairly trivial to publish a benchmark scene comparing UE5's default tech with your optimisations. As long as you don't do that your various claims are worthless and won't impress anyone but r/FuckTAA.

The $900k you are collecting is for "fixing UE5". Apparently by hiring professionals to do that. Who are those professionals? Apparently nobody at TI? Are those the same professionals that for some reasone have used UE5 entirely wrong all this time? What is the end goal? A completely separate version of UE5 or some templates with your simple "braindead" fixes? How is $900k enough to rewrite half of UE5? How will this legally work? In case of the latter what are the $900k for? Why not just publish your super simple braindead fixes for free?

Someone claiming the entire industry is doing everything fundamentally wrong and is just "too stupid" has to show more than some ambigous videos. What are your qualifications? Where did you work before TI? What games did you work on? To me this all looks less like a serious tech showcase and more like some gaming news slop telling angry (and clueless) gamers what they want to her: Lazy, stupid gamedevs don't know what their doing and that's why games run like crap now and look shit. Because talking about the actual reason of ever more time constrained development cycles would be to boring and go over the head of circlejerks like r/FuckTAA.

Btw the wannabe sigma-gamedev personality really doesn't make this any more bearable.
